βœ¨πŸ’ƒ What a night for our Senior Dance Troupe! πŸ’ƒβœ¨

Tonight, our talented Senior Dance Troupe had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Killara High School Collaborative Dance Performance! 🌟🎢

We are SO incredibly proud of each and every one of our dancers. The dedication, confidence, teamwork and passion they have shown throughout their rehearsals truly shone through on stage tonight. πŸ₯°πŸ‘

A huge congratulations to our amazing dancers for getting up there and giving it their all! ❀️ You should all be so proud of yourselves β€” you were absolutely fantastic! πŸŒŸπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

A special thank you to everyone who has supported our dancers along the way, and to Killara High School for inviting us to be part of such a wonderful evening. πŸ’βœ¨

πŸŽ‰ School leaders from the Killara Schools Partnership visited Stewart House last Friday for a special tour and to donate much-needed items for the children attending. 🏫❀️

Each year, 1,600 public school children stay at Stewart House in Curl Curl β€” free for their carers. During their 12-day stay, these kids receive vital dental 🦷, optical πŸ‘“, hearing πŸ‘‚, and medical 🩺 care.

Organised by the SRC and Mr Cohen, our generous LEPS community provided toiletry care packs 🧴✨ for each child. The staff at Stewart House were very appreciative! πŸ™πŸ˜Š

🌟 MENINDEE TRIP – DAY 5! 🌟

And just like that… our incredible Year 6 adventure came to an end! πŸ₯Ή But not before squeezing in a few more adventures!

After a final delicious breakfast, suitcases were loaded on to the bus! 🚌

⛏️ Our first stop was the Mining Memorial, where we learnt more about the history of mining in Broken Hill and had a look at the memorial for those who sadly lost their lives while mining.
Next stop… the chocolate factory!
🍫 Needless to say, this was a very popular stop! Students loaded up on plenty of delicious treats and picked up some last-minute souvenirs to remember their amazing trip. πŸ›οΈπŸ˜‹

πŸš‘βœˆοΈ We then visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service Centre and learnt more about the incredible work they do to provide essential medical care to people living in remote and rural parts of Australia.

Finally, we made our way to the airport, boarded our flight and watched Broken Hill disappear below us. πŸ₯ΉβœˆοΈ

What an INCREDIBLE 5 days it has been! 🌏❀️ From exploring the outback and learning about mining, Aboriginal culture and the cameleers, to visiting museums, mines, galleries and the School of the Air, our students have experienced so much beyond the classroom! πŸ“šβ›οΈπŸŽ¨πŸͺ

Most importantly, they have made friendships, memories and stories that they will be talking about for years to come! πŸ₯°βœ¨

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful Year 6 students for making this trip so special. You have represented our school beautifully and we are so incredibly proud of you! πŸ‘β€οΈ

And another huge thank you to Mrs Antill-Cassie and Mrs Parker for giving up their time to take our students on this wonderful trip! 😊

Until next time, Broken Hill! πŸ‘‹πŸŒ…βœˆοΈ

Today, our K-6 students are brightening up the playground with their colourful wristbands for 'Bullying No Way' Week! 🌈

Each year group has a dedicated colour, and students are writing messages of kindness, inclusivity, and anti-bullying to share and wear proudly. Let’s keep the conversation active! πŸ’¬πŸ€

Menindee Trip Day 4🌟

Day 4 in Broken Hill! 🌟

Another busy day of learning, adventure and new experiences for our Year 6 students!

After a delicious breakfast, we visited the Broken Hill School of the Air, where we learnt how students living in remote areas complete their schooling through online classrooms. πŸ’»

We then explored the Pro Hart Museum and learnt about one of Australia’s renowned artists before visiting the Broken Hill Mosque and former camel camp. Here, students learnt about the Afghan cameleers and their important role in exploring and developing inland Australia, as well as Islamic culture and history. πŸͺ

The highlight of the day was definitely our visit to Day Dream Mine! Students went underground, tried their hand at drilling and searched for their own treasures. Unfortunately, no gold or diamonds were discovered! β›οΈπŸ’Ž We were rewarded with Milo and scones afterwards! β˜•οΈ

We finished our day with Aboriginal artefact making, followed by stunning sunset views across Broken Hill πŸŒ… and dinner together at a Chinese restaurant. πŸ₯’

What an incredible day of learning, culture, history, art and adventure! Our students have been absolute superstars and are making memories they will remember for years to come! ❀️

Day 3 in Menindee & Broken Hill! 🌟

We began our third day with another Paakantyi language lesson and can now name at least 12 animals in Paakantyi!

Next, we visited Menindee Preschool, where our students had a wonderful time playing with the preschoolers and making airplanes in the sandpit. ✈️ This was a lovely way to wrap up our time in Menindee before boarding the bus to Broken Hill. Along the way, we even spotted some kalthi (emu)! πŸͺΆ

In the afternoon, we explored the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum, learning about the beautiful gems and minerals found in the local area. Some students even purchased a few treasures of their own! πŸ’Ž

We then toured the synagogue and discovered more about Broken Hill’s fascinating Jewish history.

Finished the day, by winding down with some card games and drawing. πŸƒβœοΈ

What a wonderful day of learning, exploring and making memories! ❀️

Thank you to the maths mentors from Killara High School for writing targeted mathematical problem solving questions to challenge our students and providing support to solve them. Our students are thoroughly enjoying the challenge! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ«βž—

Can you solve this one? How many times do the hands of a clock align in 24 hours? πŸ•°οΈ

Menindee excursion day 2
The weather may have changed our plans, but it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits! πŸŒ§οΈβ˜€οΈ

Our Stage 3 students had a fantastic day filled with Rubik’s Cube challenges, learning about Cathy Freeman alongside the Menindee Stage 3 students, and discovering some Paakantyi language and culture.

There were also a few unexpected visitors, including some frogs in the toilets who gave the girls quite a fright! πŸΈπŸ˜‚

Our trip mascot, Floof, enjoyed taking in the views at Copi Hollow and even joined us for our Food Technology lesson, where we made delicious scones. 🧁

Happy faces all around! πŸ’š
