📢 Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Local Council Major Festival grants are now open!

Local councils can apply for funding to deliver major festivals that celebrate NSW’s cultural diversity and bring communities together.

The Local Council Major Festival Grants support councils to deliver festivals that showcase the cultures and traditions of communities across NSW.

Key information

✅ $100,000–$250,000 for one major festival
✅ Held between 1 February 2027 and 29 February 2028
✅ Audience of 10,000+ (regional) or 30,000+ (metropolitan)

🗓️ Applications close 4pm Friday 2 October 2026 via the SmartyGrants portal.

It takes active local effort and pride to make these projects work.

How Grants Help Regions

Looking for a space to serve the community?

Exciting opportunities are available for community groups, organisations or individuals to lease or hire community facilities.

Expressions of interest (EOI) now open for:
• The Entrance Community Centre – Café (commercial, not-for-profit or hospitality training use)
• Green Point Community Centre – Building A (community use lease)
• Hamlyn Terrace Community Centre – Office space (community services)
• Watanobbi Community Centre – Office space (community services)

These spaces offer a chance to connect with the community and deliver valuable local services where they’re needed most.

The Entrance Town Centre Reactivation

: When local businesses, community and council come together, the resources to revitalise our town centre will follow. This is what has happened in Gosford.

As a local resident, business strategist, and founder, I’ve been identifying grant opportunities and encouraging local businesses to apply for precinct reactivation funding for several years. To date, there has been little interest, although I understand there have been some meetings among local business owners.

I hope that changes. Working together as a proactive business community gives us the best opportunity to attract funding, strengthen our local economy, and create a more vibrant town centre for everyone.

SUMMARY: Don’t ask, don’t get! 

Gosford Special Entertainment Precinct:
Backed by a $183,231 grant, the Central Coast Council is trialing Gosford's first Special Entertainment Precinct. This aims to boost the local night-time economy by setting sound conditions and trading hours to support live music and arts venues.Public Domain Upgrades: The city center is receiving an additional $10 million dedicated to public domain upgrades and a significant regional open space to link the Civic Heart (Kibble Park) with the waterfront

The NSW Government recently announced a massive $41 million investment to jumpstart the Gosford Waterfront Revitalisation. The funding focuses heavily on bringing locals and visitors back to the city center by creating a new pedestrian and cycling link from the CBD to Point Clare, a vibrant boardwalk, and improved public spaces.

Community Grants: Community Grants Programs funding allocation


We recently shared information with you regarding our Community Grants Programs that included an incorrect funding figure. We apologise for the error and would like to clarify that the total funding allocation for the 2026-27 Community Grants Program is $600,000.

The proposed funding allocation was adopted by Council at its last meeting on Monday 29 June 2026 and includes:

Community Support Grant Program – $200,000

Community Events and Place Activation Grant Program – $200,000

Community Development Grant Program – $200,000

This funding will support projects, programs, events and initiatives that strengthen community connection, activate local places and deliver positive outcomes for Central Coast residents.
