Students from Year 3 to Year 6 will compete in Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump, and High Jump, Relays & Ball Games to determine this year's champion house.

Will it be a Atkinson or Bellevue!

Yesterday we participated in National Simultaneous Story Time. Representatives from Ipswich NRL came to Coominya and read 'Luna Roo' to the students, at the exact same time as students all over Australia — celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and connection. Students were able to engage in some fun NRL drills. Thank you, Ipswich NRL.

National Paper Airplane Day on May 26 is to celebrate the simple joy of folding and flying paper airplanes. Today the year 4/5/6 students combined the fun with some literacy skill practice, following written instructions to create paper planes which we then tested for length, height and time of flight.

So proud of our students achieving Level 1 Caseys and those students achieving Certificates of Recognition for their academic work. These students were recognised for their efforts at Monday's assembly. Well Done everyone!

We are committed to providing the best possible learning environment for every student, and reducing class sizes allows us to continue providing high-quality teaching and a personalised approach across the school.

We understand that changes to classes can bring a mix of emotions for students and families. For this reason, we are intentionally taking a gradual approach, so students have time to build familiarity, ask questions and feel confident moving into their new learning environment.

From Week 9 (Monday 15th June), our school will operate with the following classes:

What a fantastic Under Eights Day celebration at Coominya State School, filled with sunshine, excitement, and laughter throughout the grounds.
