🏑🍲 HAMPER TO HOME – Turning Ingredients into Meals

Sometimes, a few simple ingredients can be the beginning of something much more. πŸ’š

Through our Hamper to Home initiative, we’re looking at the hampers that leave our Centre a little differently.

Our hampers contain a variety of food, something for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with fresh fruit and vegetables and bread, and on occasion, a little sweet treat too. 🍎πŸ₯¦πŸžπŸ§

Hamper to Home is one part of that bigger hamper. From the food included, we aim to identify 2–3 ingredients that work together as the starting point for a simple meal. By adding a few everyday ingredients you may already have at home, those items can be turned into something warm, filling and enjoyable for the household. πŸ₯•πŸ₯«πŸ

Since July, we’ve been sharing simple, affordable recipe ideas showing how ingredients found in our hampers can be turned into easy meals at home.

It’s not about complicated recipes or having a cupboard full of ingredients.

✨ It’s about making the most of what we have.
πŸ₯˜ Turning ingredients into a meal.
πŸ’‘ Sharing simple and practical ideas.
🏑 Helping our hampers go that little bit further at home.

A special acknowledgement and thank you to Campbelltown City Council for their support in helping make Hamper to Home possible. πŸ’š

We’d also like to acknowledge one of our wonderful community members who helps us create and trial these simple meal ideas making sure they’re not only easy and affordable, but meals that both adults and children can enjoy. 🫢

It really is a community effort, from the hamper to the kitchen and finally to the table. 🏑🍽️

We’re excited to keep building on Hamper to Home and sharing more simple meal ideas with our community.

β˜•πŸ’š Health & Wellness – Journey to Wholeness

Yesterday at CafΓ© Connect, we spent time together exploring "Labelling the Poison." It was a safe space where honest conversations led to reflection, encouragement, and hope.

Together we discussed:
🌿 Understanding resentment
🀍 The importance of vulnerability
πŸͺž Self-reflection
🀝 Seeking support
πŸ•ŠοΈ Healing and closure

Healing isn't about having all the answers it's about taking one step at a time, knowing you don't have to walk the journey alone.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along, shared, listened, and supported one another. Your openness made yesterday's discussion truly meaningful. πŸ’š

If you've been looking for a place to connect, be heard, or simply enjoy a cuppa with friendly faces, we'd love to welcome you next week. Everyone is welcome.

Last week was National Volunteer Week and honestly, our centre wouldn't run the way it does without the people who quietly show up, help out, give their time, carry others, and never ask for recognition.

To every volunteer connected to our community, thank you. Whether you help once a week, once a month, behind the scenes, in the kitchen, with our families, students, food support, set up, clean up, transport, admin, or simply being a safe person for someone having a hard day, you matter more than you probably realise.

Volunteering isn't just β€œhelping out.” It changes lives, builds connection, restores dignity, and reminds people they aren't alone.

We see you.
We appreciate you.
And we're grateful you choose to walk alongside our community. πŸ’š

Please take a moment to watch this beautiful video for National Volunteer Week.

Thank you to all of our volunteers across Australia! You are the heart and soul of our projects and we are so grateful for your commitment and service to you...

Today’s Flower Making Workshop was such a beautiful coming together of culture, creativity, laughter, and connection 🌺

Our community had the opportunity to learn the cultural significance of wearing a poi tiare through the Cook Islands perspective, while also creating their own everlasting flowers to take home and cherish.

A huge thank you to Caroline for sharing not only her knowledge and talents, but also the meaning and heart behind the workshop. It was special seeing everyone put their own personality into each flower made.

From learning new skills, sharing stories, enjoying refreshments, and simply sitting together in a warm and welcoming space, today was a reminder of how important community connection truly is.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success πŸ’š

Not everyone has access to fresh flowers for events, so this is a way to still show up, represent, and carry that beauty with you anytime.

✨ What to expect
