Voting may now be closed and the VEC has started the counting, but yesterday was all about community at the Marong Easter Fair. 🐣🌸

I had such a great time being part of the day, starting set up around 1pm and not getting home until close to 8pm. A long day, but absolutely worth it to see so many families out enjoying themselves.

Community events like this are so important, especially with the cost of living pressures so many are facing right now. There is a lot of uncertainty out there, but what days like this remind me is just how amazing our community really is.

Grateful to be part of it. šŸ’›

Spent the day at a beautiful venue taking part in The Resilience Canopy training.

It’s not always the visible work that matters most. Days like this are about building the skills, knowledge and connections needed to better support our community and empower people to shape their own future.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside others who care deeply about strengthening communities and helping people feel confident, connected and supported.

Always learning. Always looking for ways to do better for our community.

Being a councillor isn’t always about being seen out and about, sometimes it’s about doing the learning behind the scenes to better support our community.

Today I started The Resilience Canopy training, continuing to build my understanding of community wellbeing, connection and resilience. These opportunities help strengthen the way we support and empower people across our neighbourhood.

I’m committed to doing the work both visible and behind the scenes, to be the best councillor I can be and to help build a stronger, more connected community.

After a long day teaching Grade 1, my evening has been spent replying to emails and working through the issues surrounding the Solstice withdrawal.

This work is voluntary, but it’s exactly why I put my hand up to run for council.

I’ve been proud to help people across all 10 towns affected by this issue and to stand with those who feel they don’t have a voice. While you might not see me doing random campaign pop-ups at the pub or local shops (although I probably should!), I’m mindful about how I spend my time right now.

At the moment that means writing to politicians, lawyers, Solstice, and organisations that are meant to protect everyday Australians. It means checking every detail, asking the tough questions, and making sure every ā€œtā€ is crossed and every ā€œiā€ is dotted.

I’m not giving up. The cut-off is still months away, and I’ll keep fighting for those who feel they can’t speak up, for those who aren’t confident to raise their concerns, and for accountability when workmanship or processes don’t meet the standard or the code.

This is what standing up for our community looks like. šŸ’™

Ballot papers are coming this week, don’t forget to vote 1-8.

I live here. I’m local. I care.

Our ward needs a strong voice at the council table, and I’m stepping up to fight for our Lockwood Ward community.

Running for Council means being a strong voice for our ward.

As a parent, teacher and community advocate, I understand the issues our community faces because I live here too. My experience working with families and community groups has taught me the importance of listening, asking questions and speaking up.

If elected, I will make sure our community’s voice is heard at Council and advocate for what matters most to our ward.

Not councillor related, just me, like many of you, making the most of a rainy weekend.
Harvested the corn from the veggie patch and getting ready to replant.
Loving the rain for my garden and watching the native birds.

I’ve been listening and the concerns are clear.

Local services. Transparency. Fairness. Feeling heard.

These aren’t the only issues, but they’re some already raised with me by our community.

If elected, I will advocate strongly, ask the hard questions, and make sure our community’s voice is heard where it matters.

Neighbourhood Houses are the heartbeat of community.

They are more than just buildings, they are safe spaces where voices are heard, connections are made, and people feel seen and supported. From playgroups and youth programs to adult learning, food relief and social groups, they reflect what our community actually needs. because they are built by community, for community.

Neighbourhood Houses are one of the strongest examples of grassroots community voice in action. They listen. They respond. They advocate. And they create belonging.

As I run for Councillor, I believe deeply in protecting and amplifying that voice. If elected, I will be a strong advocate not just within Council, but also to State Government.

This is an election year. It’s time to make sure our community voice is loud, united and impossible to ignore.

Let’s stand up, speak up, and ensure local voices shape local decisions.
