What a day! 🇱🇧 Stage 3 Arabic class got stuck in — crushing garlic, squeezing lemons, chopping up a storm — and whipped up tabbouleh, zaatar and more for their Lebanese food lesson. So proud of how engaged and helpful they were! Huge thanks to Ms Suzanne and Ms Rebecca for making this such an authentic learning experience for our students.

Founded by students at Burwood Girls High School in 2010, Wear It Purple Day celebrates young LGBTQIA+ people and families, while promoting inclusivity and acceptance. It has since grown into a global movement.
This year’s theme, ‘Colours of Courage’, reminds us of the courage required for many LGBTQIA+ people to be themselves. Today is an opportunity for us to help foster safe, inclusive and empowering environments for all students, staff and members of our extended community.

Following on from 1A’s amazing assembly, Year 2 learned more about the Indigenous Literacy Foundation through a news story that followed a group of high school students who became published authors after writing a children’s book connected to their Torres Strait Islander culture and experience.
