Our Cohort 2 members have been busy getting into the basics of firefighting and picking up plenty of new skills along the way.

From learning how to use equipment safely to working as a team on practical exercises, they’ve been putting in the effort and getting hands on experience at every opportunity.

It’s been great to see their enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and the progress they’ve already made. We look forward to watching them continue their training and become valuable members of our brigade.

A big thanks to our trainers and experienced members who have been sharing their knowledge and helping guide our next firefighters.

NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation

Our brigade would like to recognise and congratulate the volunteers who have been awarded the NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation for their service during the major flood events across New South Wales between 2021 and 2023.

These floods impacted countless communities, and our members answered the call, working alongside emergency services, community organisations, and volunteers to support those affected during some of the state’s most challenging times.

The Citation acknowledges the extraordinary efforts, dedication, and commitment shown by those who contributed to the flood response and recovery operations. It serves as a reminder of the vital role volunteers play in helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

We are incredibly proud of our members who stepped forward to assist during these events and grateful for the time, skill, and compassion they continue to give in service to our community.

Please join us in congratulating all recipients of the NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation and thanking them for their outstanding contribution.

💪 Supporting Mental Health, One Push-Up at a Time 💙

The Push-Up Challenge is Australia’s largest mental health and fitness event, bringing together hundreds of thousands of Australians to raise awareness for mental health and su***de prevention.

Participants challenge themselves to complete a set number of push-ups, representing the number of lives lost to su***de in Australia based on the most recent available data. Along the way, participants receive daily mental health facts and have the opportunity to fundraise for leading mental health charities.

Our brigade has been proudly taking part in the challenge and, so far, our members have completed more than 3,900 push-ups and raised an incredible $3,692 to support mental health initiatives and services.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, participated, and encouraged our team along the way. Every push-up completed and every dollar raised helps shine a light on mental health and supports those doing it tough.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Whether you’re taking part in the challenge, making a donation, or simply checking in on a mate, every action can make a difference.

🖤💛❤️ Reflecting on National Reconciliation Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤

As volunteers, we are proud to stand alongside our community and recognise the rich history, culture, knowledge and contributions of First Nations peoples. Their connection to Country and traditional land management practices continue to provide valuable lessons in caring for our environment and reducing bushfire risk.

Reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility. Through understanding, respect and working together, we can help build stronger communities and a better future for all Australians.

The ongoing journey of reconciliation continues, and we are committed to walking that path together.

Today, 8 members from our brigade rolled up their sleeves and donated blood with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.

Giving blood is a simple act that can make a life-saving difference to people in need. We’re proud to support our community not only on the fireground, but in other ways that help save lives every day.

Today we celebrate all the incredible mums in our brigade family, the mothers volunteering within the brigade, supporting behind the scenes, helping in the community, and keeping everything running both at home and beyond.

Thank you for everything you do, not just for our brigade, but for the people around you every single day. Your support, care and dedication never go unnoticed.

Over the past few weeks, a number of hazard reduction burns have been carried out.

Hazard reductions are a key part of managing fuel loads and help reduce the intensity and spread of fire should a wildfire occur.

With favourable conditions continuing, more hazard reductions are planned over the coming week while the window of opportunity remains open.

It’s been a busy period for the brigade, with members actively involved in recent burns and preparing to support upcoming operations. A massive thank you to all our volunteers who continue to give their time and effort.

Remember, only call Triple Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire. With more burns planned in the coming days, stay informed by checking the RFS website or the Hazards Near Me app for updates in your area.

Hazard reduction is just one way of preparing for bush fires – it doesn't remove the threat of fire, and it doesn't remove the need for you and your family to be prepared.

Today we celebrate the incredible women who volunteer across the NSW Rural Fire Service and within our communities.

Women play an important role in the RFS — from firefighting and operational roles to communications, logistics and leadership. Their dedication, skills and commitment help make our brigades stronger and our communities safer.

At Marsden Park Rural Fire Brigade, we’re proud to support and work alongside the women who give their time to protect our community.
