The Maryborough Volunteer Resource Group recognises the valuable contributions of all local volunteers across the shire. We also recognise that young people play an active part in volunteering too. They just do it differently.

FEATURED YOUNG VOLUNTEER

Name: James Walsh

Volunteers for: SES, St Johns and Parkrun.
James started volunteering at Parkrun some time ago and is heading towards his 50th event. He has become a much loved timekeeper every Saturday morning.

He also volunteers with StJohns and SES and really enjoys helping out the community.

“Helping out the community gives me a sense of pride plus makes me feel a bit better knowing it becomes a safer space for everybody" he said.

Charming songbird Laura Caire takes us on a musical journey through her cheeky diary entries. Poignant, witty, and slightly naughty!
Laura has been singing for as long as she can remember with a lifelong love of operetta, musical theatre and cabaret. Laura has taken on a wide range of leading roles, including Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore), Maria (West Side Story), Marian (The Music Man, Laurey (Oklahoma! ), Polly (The Boyfriend,), Carrie (Carousel), and the title role in Patience.
Laura is also a proud member of the Gilbert & Sullivan troupe The Wand’ring Minstrels, which staged a concert in Dunolly Town Hall in February this year.
She is delighted to return to Dunolly with "Diary of a Caire Girl" - a show 15 years in the making.

Our thriving sports community needs volunteers who are willing to give their time to fill the gaps in much needed roles in events across the shire.

From Ebony Miller, Maryborough Giants Football and Netball Club:

The Maryborough Giants Football and Netball Club have a few areas where some extra help would make a big difference on game days:

• Scoreboard
• Canteen
• Behind the bar (RSA required)
• Gate / raffle assistance

We’re more than happy to offer volunteers free entry to the game (normally $12 at the gate), along with a canteen voucher for each volunteer as a thank you. Below are the times and dates for our home games

Any assistance between 8am - 4pm on these dates would be amazing
