Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day 2026! This year's theme, “The Future Starts With Us!”

Today, we celebrate and thank our incredible Hunter Early Childhood Centre team for the tireless care, dedication and support they provide to children and families every day.

Early childhood educators play such an important role in shaping the foundations of children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Through patience, creativity, compassion and countless moments of connection, our educators help children feel safe, supported, valued and ready to take their next steps.

We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and commitment of our team. Thank you for everything you do, not only for the children in your care, but for the families and communities you support along the way.

🌸 Mums & Bubs Pilates Update 🌸

Our Mums & Bubs Pilates sessions will be cancelled on Wednesday 9 September and Wednesday 16 September due to HWC events and Staff Development Training.

But don’t worry, we’ll be back on the mats together on Wednesday 23 September! 🧘‍♀️💕

As part of Jean Hailes for Women's Health Women's Health Week (7–11 September 2026), we’re encouraging women to make time for themselves, prioritise their wellbeing and take small steps towards feeling good.

Join us at Hunter Women’s Centre for a special Mini Spa Retreat — a day of pampering, connection and self-care.

Enjoy a mini massage, facial and nail treatment, share a light lunch and connect with other women in a relaxed and supportive space.

✨ Sometimes looking after yourself starts with simply making the time — supporting the theme 'Do it anyway'.

We absolutely loved partnering with Women's Legal Service NSW this week to host Your Knowledge, Her Safety at Hunter Women’s Centre! 💜

It was so great to have a room full of our wonderful community partners coming together to learn, connect and build their knowledge around supporting women’s safety at home, at work and online.

Such an informative and engaging day, covering everything from coercive control and financial abuse to workplace sexual harassment, tech safety and referral pathways.

A big thank you to the Women’s Legal Service NSW team for sharing their knowledge with us, and to everyone who came along and made the day such a great one! We love opportunities like this to bring our local sector together. 🥰

What a wonderful night of stories, connection and community 💜

Hunter Women’s Centre was so happy to be an event partner for the Women Australia Storytelling Night last Wednesday.

It was such a special evening, bringing women together across generations to share their stories, experiences and perspectives. There’s something incredibly powerful about creating space for women’s voices to be heard and celebrated.

A big thank you to Generation Women Australia, all of the wonderful storytellers, and everyone who came along and made the evening what it was.

We loved being part of it and look forward to more opportunities to bring women together through storytelling, connection and community.

We're collecting period products for Share the Dignity this August!

Feel free to drop your donations off at the centre throughout the month and we will send them off to support those who menstruate and are facing hardship to be able to access the products that they need with dignity!

Today we were proud to be part of the Hunter Homeless Connect Day at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

It was an incredible day connecting with our community, meeting so many inspiring people, and sharing information about the support and services available through Hunter Women’s Centre. It was also wonderful to see so many organisations coming together with one shared goal – supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

A huge thank you to Waratah Village Amcal , Blooms The Chemist Mayfield and PRICELINE PHARMACY MAYFIELD for your generous donations of personal care and hygiene items. Your kindness has allowed us to provide essential care packs to women who need them most, and we are so grateful for your support.
