Fleurieu Poultry Association Inc FPA Inc was set up to explore the possibilities for establishing a viable producing, processing and marketing cooperative venture in the Fleurieu Peninsula

The Association was set up to explore the possibilities for establishing a viable producing, processing and marketing cooperative venture in the Fleurieu Peninsula. It grew out of a series of meetings between people affected by the plans to close the Inghams Turkey Factory in McLaren Vale in late December 2014. These included factory employees and their union the National Union of Workers (NUW), p

oultry and other quality food producers in the region and a range of other people concerned about the effect of such a closure on the region; including the local Council, State Government, businesses and community groups. The aim of the Association is to develop a Cooperative that can produce a range of fresh and processed food products based on quality local ingredients for the local food market including restaurants, cafes, retailers and direct sales to consumers. Our aim is to promote the region’s image for clean green food and agriculture and to support those who work in this industry with economically, socially and environmentally sustainable jobs.
