Applications are now open for the Victorian International Education Awards 2026! Hear from Vish Goswami, last year’s winner of the International Student of the Year – Regional award, about why you should apply.

These prestigious awards celebrate Victoria’s most exceptional international students, graduates and alumni who are making a real difference through their community involvement, leadership and academic achievements.

Student winners receive $3,000 to support their studies and career development. The Premier’s Award winner will receive an additional $5,000.

Categories include Research, Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training, English Language, Regional, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Emerging Leader (International Alumni).

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by upcoming exams and assessment deadlines, you’re not alone.

1️⃣ The Study Melbourne Hub provides international students with free and confidential support services Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Drop in or make a time to talk to one of our friendly staff members. You can also enjoy free WiFi, coffee, tea and snacks while you’re there.

2️⃣ On 22 May, you can also speak with a wellbeing coach and get personalised help and advice to help you manage stress. No appointment necessary – just arrive at the Hub between 1-3 pm!

3️⃣ The Study Melbourne website has a full list of mental health resources, including MOST, a free app that connects you with mental health professionals and resources. On Sunday 19 April, more than 500 international students attended Marvel Stadium for a hands-on introduction to AFL, followed by a live match experience at the North Melbourne Cultural Heritage Series game against Richmond.

For many attendees this was their first experience of AFL, offering a memorable introduction to one of Australia's most recognised sporting codes while celebrating cultural diversity and strengthening community connection.
