Ford crossing closures are in place at:
🚫Saltmarsh Road, Lake Plains Road to Findlater Road, Langhorne Creek (Bremer River)

⚠️ Note: conditions can change quickly at ford crossings and roads near creeks and rivers after significant rain events. Emergency Services warn motorists NOT to drive through floodwaters.

⛔ Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
⛔ Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
⛔ Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
⛔ Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.

Showers continue across the State, with gusty winds expected later Tuesday and early Wednesday. While not severe, saturated soils may lead to isolated tree-down impacts.

Park your car and other vehicles under cover and well away from trees to avoid trees falling or dropping large branches on them.
Set up camp well away from trees and large overhanging branches.
Take extra care when driving as there may be reduced visibility, and trees and branches may have fallen across roads.

The Middleton roads all appear to have been reopened by Alexandrina Council following the enormous downpours yesterday
Reports that some edges are soft so stay away from the edges.
Always drive to the conditions and obey any traffic signs.

The Bureau of Meteorology has updated the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL for Mount Lofty Ranges and parts of Adelaide Metropolitan, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and Upper South East districts.

Issued at 3:20 pm CST on Sunday 9 August 2026

Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms possible.

Weather Situation: Lines of showers and thunderstorms may result in areas of heavy rainfall extending from the Riverland district through to parts of the southern Fleurieu Peninsula, including eastern Adelaide suburbs.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Murray Bridge, Gawler, Victor Harbor, Blanchetown, Mannum and Tailem Bend.

Safety advice
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.

They will be closed by council staff as soon as possible.

Reports that much of Airport Rd Middleton is flooded on the Eastbound lane.
Alexandrina Council have been contacted to assess and erect ‘flooded’ signage.
