Starting daycare, preschool, and eventually school comes with a lot of questions for families.

What does early learning actually look like?
How do children learn through play?
What makes a child feel ready for school?
And how do you know you’re making the right choice in the first place?

That’s exactly why we’re hosting our Family Information Night at Goodstart Mona Vale.

It will be a relaxed evening where families can meet our educators, learn more about our nursery to preschool programs and hear from a local primary school teacher about school readiness.

No perfect parenting knowledge required. We’re all figuring it out as we go too.

Thursday 25 June | 6:00pm | Nibbles provided (of course)

One of the questions we hear all the time from families is:

“how do I know which room my child will be in?”

At Goodstart Mona Vale, children move through rooms based on both age and development, with each space designed to support the stage they’re currently in.

From nursery cuddles and sleep routines in Dingu, to growing independence in Gula, imaginative learning in Buru, and school readiness in Binyang, every room has its own learning style and energy.

And honestly… the jump from “sweet sleepy baby" to “4-year-old asking 37 questions before morning tea” happens very quickly.

We’ve shared a little look inside each of our rooms, along with the educators leading them, so families can get a feel for what everyday life looks like as children grow through the centre 🤍

Some days it’s structured and calm, with beautifully set up learning experiences.

Other days it’s emotions, lost shoes, and someone absolutely refusing to wear their hat (never me though, I promise).
 
What stays consistent…
• Children who feel safe and seen
• Educators who somehow always have a plan (and a backup, backup plan)
• Learning what happens right in the middle of the emotions
• Annnnd a whole lot of care in between it all

Starting daycare comes with a veeeery specific kind of overthinking.
 
Will they sleep? Will they get sick? Are they too young? What if they cry the whole time? Am I doing the right thing?
 
We hear these thoughts all the time, and of course, they make sense.
 
It’s a big step, especially when you’re used to knowing exactly what your child needs every minute of the day.
 
What usually surprises families is how easily children adjust to new environments.
They get used to the rhythm of the day, they start recognising familiar faces, they build trust in their educators, and little by little, it starts to feel okay (for them AND for you).
