Big News from Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group (MIFSG)! 🎣
After much thought and discussion at our recent AGM, we've made a big call that’s all about doing things better, not just bigger.
🧭 The Northwest Fishing Classic – now biennial!
That’s right — from here on, our flagship event, the Northwest Fishing Classic, will be held every two years. It’s the highlight of the regional fishing calendar, and we want to give it the energy and scale it truly deserves.

Mark your calendars — because when it returns, it's going to be massive. More planning, more sponsors, more community fun, more prizes — and even better fishing.
💪 Why the change?
Because we’re a volunteer-led group and running this event annually was burning people out. By going biennial, we’re making space to grow the Classic and put more effort into supporting our loyal MIFSG members.
🎉 In between the big events, we’re launching exclusive members-only fishing days and activities to keep the momentum going and give back to our awesome community.

Dear Members/ Past Members,

We would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where you'll have the opportunity to meet fellow members, learn more about our initiatives, and actively participate in shaping the future of our group.

Please note that only financial members are eligible to vote at the AGM. If you haven't renewed your membership for the current year, we encourage you to do so before the meeting to ensure your voting eligibility.
Part of the benefits of entering the fishing competition last year was free membership to the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group for each competitor. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the group and hope to see you at our Annual General Meeting.
Your participation is crucial in shaping the direction of our group. If anyone wishes to nominate for a position on the committee please contact the secretary for a nomination form prior to the meeting or fill one out at the meeting
