🌱🎃 MOYSTON EASTER MARKET – GIANT PUMPKIN COMPETITION 2026 🎃🌱

Our Giant Pumpkin Competition hit its third year on Easter Saturday, and it’s clear this little idea has grown into something the whole region enjoys. What started as a fun, low‑cost way for people of all ages and abilities to get outside, into their gardens, and share the joy of growing something together. It’s become a great way for neighbours, families and friends to connect, and the reaction from visitors this year showed just how much people love it.

Even with the tough heat earlier in the season, growers from all over the local region still turned up with an amazing range of pumpkins and veggies. The smiles, the photos and the “you’ve got to see this one” comments made it all worthwhile.

We are thrilled to advise a total of $4452 has been received towards our Mammography Machine project following a “gold coin” collection at the Moyston Easter Market over the weekend. Thank you to the organisers and all who supported this wonderful event and gave so generously.

🚒 Moyston CFA – Our Favourite Crew

A quick shout‑out to our Moyston CFA team, who added plenty of smiles to the Easter Market 🐰 especially when the Easter Bunny wandered over for a photo. Alex and the Bunny made quite the duo, and we’re still not sure who enjoyed it more.

This year's raffle money is going straight towards their “Big Fill” project — a Landcruiser Ute with a high‑capacity pump to help refill trucks quickly during fire responses. It’s a big project, but every bit of support helps them get there.

🏉 The John Vanderwaal Longkick fired up the Moyston Easter Market! 🔥

What a brilliant turnout for the 2026 John Vanderwaal Longkick — one of our most loved Easter traditions. The atmosphere was huge, the kicks were massive, and the community spirit was exactly what makes Moyston special.

This year we saw 93 competitors step up, which we believe is our biggest number of entries in the competition’s history. What an incredible effort from everyone who lined up for a kick!

A huge thank you to the Moyston Willaura Football Netball Club for partnering with us once again, and to our biggest supporter and legendary MC Brian Kennedy, who brings the heart and humour that makes this event shine.

🐣 A Huge Thank You to Woolworths Ararat – Easter Egg Trail Sponsor

The Moyston Easter Market is excited to announce that this year’s Easter Egg Trail for children 12 and under is proudly supported by Woolworths Ararat.

Woolworths Ararat have generously donated 200 Easter eggs, helping us bring plenty of smiles to our youngest market‑goers.

Kids can collect their trail card from the Information Tent, our volunteers, or the Easter Bunny, who will be hopping around the market throughout the morning. They then visit the participating stalls to have their card marked, before returning to the Information Tent to receive their Easter egg.

Thanks to Woolworths Ararat, this simple, fun activity is completely free and adds something special to our community event. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and commitment to local families.
