I know it’s Winter but……. Time to start preparing your property for the next fire season. There’s a strong likelihood of an early start to the bushfire season.
CFA link below with details on property preparation.
Remember to register any burn off so we don’t come visiting in a hurry 😳🚒😳!

Everyone in Victoria who lives near dense forest, bush, grassland or the coast needs to prepare their property for bushfire.

Great Triangle Training session tonight:
Jo Hunter from Marysville SES discussed the SES’ roles and functions and used operational examples to demonstrate them.
She led an enthusiastic discussion on how the CFA and SES work together and how best we can support each other.
It was great to have 3 of the Narby trainees ( Caleb, Sharon and Dan) join us for the first time at Triangle Training.

Thanks Jo for a great presentation & discussion!

Triangle Training Today:
Great Breathing Apparatus ( BA) exercise today .
Refresher for all trained BA Operators and a chance for the rest of us to use BA for the first time.
In a dark, smoke filled environment we rescued the “casualties” and removed “hazardous materials” from the incident scene.
The “casualties” were given CPR and first aid in the Triage area.
Success was celebrated with a BBQ back at the Narbethong Fire Station.
Thanks all and well done Brian in in planning and leading the exercise.
Thanks Rosemary for letting us use your property!

Narby, supported by Marysville and Buxton responded late afternoon to a motor vehicle accident on the Black Spur, just past the caravan park going south.
Luckily no injuries and all that was required was to manage traffic ( with VicPol) and ensure that “kitty litter” was spread on the oil spill.
The road was closed for approximately 15minutes to keep the clean up team safe.
