🧡 Wear Orange Wednesday 2026 – Best Dressed in Orange Winners! 🧡

On Wednesday, Narrogin SES volunteers Lisa, Marie and Michelle were delighted to present the winning orange-themed gift hampers to the recipients of our competion WA College of Agriculture - Narrogin -as part of Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) 2026. 🏆🍊

A huge thank you to WA College of Agriculture – Narrogin for proudly supporting SES volunteers across Australia and for inviting us to attend your school assembly. It was a fantastic opportunity to announce the winners, share the importance of Wear Orange Wednesday, and talk with students about the many ways they can get involved in volunteering—whether through emergency services, sporting clubs, community organisations, or other local groups that make a difference in our communities.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to learn new skills, meet great people and give back to your community, and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm from the students. 👏

🚨 SES Storm Response – Bunbury 🚨

Our volunteers were asked to assist crews in Bunbury after recent storm damage incidents across the Bunbury area, assisting the community with a range of emergency repairs.

Tasks included:
🔸 Filling broken windows 🪟
🔸 Removing broken glass and debris to make properties safe 🧤
🔸 Carrying out temporary roof repairs to prevent further water damage 🏠
🔸 Assisting homeowners and businesses affected by the storm ⛈️

🛟Safety is always our top priority. During one roof repair operation, volunteer Evan was required to work at height, so the team established a roof safety system to ensure the job could be completed safely and effectively.

A huge thank you to all SES volunteers who gave their time and skills to help the community recover following the severe weather.

💛🧡 Whether it’s storm damage, flood response, or emergency assistance, SES volunteers are ready to help when their community and surrounding crews need it the most.

🧯🦺Narrogin jetsprint boats- 🚤
Did you know we have been honoured to be safety crew (mud rats 👣) for the last 2 years for Narrogin Jetsprint Club at Archibald park?

All of our unit members receive detailed-questions welcome safety briefings from the club Marshalls and crew-shown the specifics of between 450 kg and 600 kg weighing speedboats; when completely rigged, excluding fuel and crew.
They also have no brakes!! Safety crew are informed of what to touch, what to do, what not to do, what to expect and what to do in case of all things emergencies for the racers, pit crew and safety of the public. Which aligns with what we do in any scenario- make sure we have all the details and capabilities of what’s involved and assessing and maintaining the safety of all.

We have handheld radios provided, safety barriers at each of the 3 pods and racing flags to let them know when they are okay to start and any hazards in the water before continuing.
We bring our muscle, we get nervous but when we hear an engine stop abruptly during a race - we jump right in to push back to safety- we are assured no matter if the boat is damaged. Our priority is the racers and navigators inside and making sure they are okay. 👍

We thoroughly enjoy the chance to be there to assist boats back to safety and we absolutely love the thrill of hearing those roaring v8 motors in our town at Archibald park for a few days around sep/october.

These racers and navigators in the passenger seat are incredible at what they do and we just have so much admiration for their sport and are happy to support in any way we can☺️ Get down to watch this sport when and where you can. It’s something you have to see to believe.🪄👏🏻
