💙 Happy Father’s Day from Carers and Disability Link! 💙

Today, we’re celebrating all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, foster dads, father figures and special people who play an important role in the lives of others. 👨‍👧‍👦💙

We also recognise the fathers and father figures who are Carers, supporting loved ones with disability, illness, mental health challenges or as they age. Your patience, strength, love and dedication make a meaningful difference every day. 🌟

Father’s Day can look different for everyone. Whether you’re celebrating with family, remembering someone special, spending time with a loved one, or simply taking a moment for yourself, we hope your day is filled with connection and kindness. 💙

From everyone at Carers and Disability Link, Happy Father’s Day! 🌿

Tonight is Census Night – Tuesday 11 August 2026.

It’s time for the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) to count people and households across Australia. Census data helps inform decisions about services, funding, infrastructure and supports in communities.

For Carers, being counted matters. ❤️

The 2026 Census includes a question about whether you have provided unpaid care, help or assistance to family members or others because of disability, a long-term health condition or problems related to old age.

If you provide unpaid care, make sure your caring role is recognised in the Census. The information collected helps build a clearer picture of the number and needs of Carers across Australia and can support better planning for services and supports.

Need help completing the Census?
🔗 How to complete the Census: https://info.census.abs.gov.au/about/doing-census
🌏 Resources in other languages: https://info.census.abs.gov.au/language-support
🌏 Information for migrants, refugees and international visitors: https://info.census.abs.gov.au/help/information-migrants-refugees-and-international-visitors

The ABS also provides accessible Census support, including Easy Read resources, Auslan videos, screen-reader compatible information, large-print and Braille forms, and in-person assistance.

Your caring role matters. Your contribution matters. Make sure Carers are counted. 💙

👖💙 It’s Jeans for Genes Day 💙👖

Let’s recognise the strength, resilience and love shown by children living with genetic conditions, their families, and the Carers who support them every day.

Carers and Disability Link understand that behind every diagnosis is a family navigating appointments, routines, challenges and milestones. That's why we're here to provide practical support that helps people live well and stay connected to their community.

Whether it's:
💙 Supporting Carers through their caring journey
🏡 Providing respite to give Carers time to rest and recharge
🤝 Delivering personalised disability and NDIS supports
🌟 Creating opportunities for social connection and independence

CADL are committed to helping individuals and families thrive.

Today, as we wear our jeans, we're also celebrating the power of community, inclusion and support. Together, we can help ensure no family has to face their journey alone. 💙

If you'd like to support the research helping children with genetic conditions, you can make a donation here: https://fundraise.jeansforgenes.org.au/
