World Environment Day may have been last week, but the link between a healthy environment and healthy communities is something we think about every day.

Our team explains how things like cleaner air, greener neighbourhoods and sustainable transport options can support better health for everyone 👇

Want to help your child become stronger and more confident?

Run their way to confidence!

Running, jumping, kicking, throwing and catching are key skills for active play and a healthy life.

The good news? Kids best learn these skills through play.

Try these simple ideas with your child at home or at the park:
• Play quick running games like “ready, set, go!”
• Run to easy targets – like a tree or a line on the ground
• Mix it up: slow jogs, fast runs, stop and go
• Make it fun: run like a rocket, animal or superhero
• Join in and cheer them on - confidence grows with encouragement

Just a few minutes of play each day helps children build strength, balance, coordination and a love of being active.

🚻 The Great Dunny Hunt 2026 is on! 🧻🗺️

We’re calling on dunny hunters to help uncover hidden toilets and spot those secret loos hiding in plain sight.

Add a public toilet to the National Public Toilet Map and you could go into the draw to win a $1,000 Discovery Holiday Parks voucher.

Knowing where toilets are makes it easier for everyone to get outdoors, enjoy green open spaces, and feel confident going for a walk, exercising, relaxing in parks and exploring their community.

How to enter:
1) Visit the National Public Toilet Map website 👉 https://toiletmap.gov.au/
2) Add a public toilet to the map 🚻

Competition closes 15 June 2026.

Tomorrow’s architects, designing for healthier living today 🏢🌳

Our Healthy Places team were delighted to be guest reviewers for the Master Studio: Ordinary Luxury at the University of Sydney recently.

It was inspiring to see students’ models and designs drawing on our NSW Premier’s Award-winning Healthy Higher Density Living for Families with Children Guide.

These future architects are embracing approaches that support healthy environments, especially for families with young children.
