What a wonderful week it has been here at Little Creatures!
We have seen some incredible new changes in our Toddler room- totally transforming the atmoshpere with a new Natural play space that the girls have introduced and implemented. Using a variety of natural and recycled materials to create a homely feel to the room - Thank you to all the families who cooperated with our carers and involved themselves in the project by adding to the environment with their own recyclables to encourage sustainable play for our terrifically energetic tots! We appreciate family involvement and participation throughout the centre, If you have any materials at home you would like to see our tiny 2's playing with please feel free to bring them in.
In Babies we have seen some super sensory exploration- The bubs have been using their hards to extend on fine motor and finger manipulation by painting ice! This acitivty couldn't have caught their attention any better with multiple "More more" requests! They didn't seem to mind the cold ice between their hands as they continually watched the paint liquify and melt towards the bottom of the tray. This has then opened the world of colour mixing for our intrigued little bubs!
A Massive thank you to Our Qualified Julie in the Baby Room for surprising four of our Birthday girls with a Cake to share among the carers, what a wonderful team we have here!
Over in the Kindy Room the girls have been super focused on their letterland projects, using the phonics based program to introduce all the letters of the alphabet with fun and quirky characters. Each of these Characters have had a two week focus since the beginning of the year and boy have we had some fun! The Kindy's have just begun learning about Vicky Violet who's here to help teach the letter V! Each morning the children Engage with the carers to listen and sing along to our Letterland mat session routine of a welcome song, a story book, an interactive app on the tablet, a letter song to then be followed by an open discussion to encourage brainstorming on all sorts of words that the already children know and can extend on! The children chose VEGETABLES as their art focus today and decided to freely express their interpretation with coloured crayons - tapping in to their inner artists!
We were very excited to learn that Little Creatures gained a little yellow visitor over night- Mr Minion! One of the LC Neighbours kindly invited us to join the community activity that involves the surrounding families in small minion sleepovers - Offering for us to use one of his recycled Minions for the day just like the other children in Duncraig!
The Toddler and Kindy children were involved in a Minion Hunt for their thursday entertainment- Finding the little yellow fellow resting out in the garden, hiding away from the rain! We value our involvement within the community and take pride in participation between all the rooms - The children learn to cooperate and work together as a centre while socially expanding their knowledge on the world around them!
We look forward to the week ahead - Holding our Halloween Dress Up day on the 31st of October- We cant wait to see what creative and inventive costumes you each come up with!
Happy Thursday From the team at Little Creatures
