South Coogee Bush Fire Brigade Official page for South Coogee Bush Fire Brigade Our fire prevention role within the Category 1 fire district supports Fire and Rescue.

Our primary role is to provide fire suppression and prevention services to the residents of the City of Cockburn located west of the Kwinana Freeway. In times of emergency, we are available to assist at incidents in other local government areas, in DBCA reserves and where requested throughout Australia. South Coogee also provides support to the State Emergency Service Volunteers when required.

If you’re in the city between 7am and 6pm, come say hello and throw a few coins in the tin (or tap if you’re living in 2026 😉).

Every donation helps support the work our volunteers do throughout the year.

Today we recognise International Firefighters’ Day and take a moment to thank the incredible members of the South Coogee Bush Fire Brigade.
Our volunteers give their time, energy, and commitment to protect our local area - often in tough and unpredictable conditions. Their dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

We also acknowledge those who have served before us, and honour the firefighters around the world who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Big week for the brigade 👏

A huge thank you to the members who represented us at today’s International Firefighters Day Memorial Service - taking the time to honour those who came before us and those we’ve lost.

And a massive shoutout to our 2025 recruits who officially step up as firefighters this Wednesday. Well earned and well deserved - great to see the next crew coming through strong.

Proud week all round.
