Engagement in Learning!

1D fully embraced the Commonwealth Games spirit as we excitedly watched Australia’s medal tally grow! Throughout our learning, we researched the 74 participating countries, exploring where they are located around the world. We also learnt about all 10 sports featured in the Games, including discovering the rules and skills involved in sports such as judo and lawn bowls.

In Mathematics, we had great fun using data from the Games to create picture graphs, developing our understanding of data collection, representation and interpretation.

As Australia continued to build an impressive lead on the medal tally, the students proudly declared Australia the “overall winners!” It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and excitement while connecting our classroom learning to such an engaging sporting event.

FATHER’S DAY STALL - 2 & 3 SEPTEMBER
Our Father’s Day Stall will be running on:
Wednesday 2 September and Thursday 3 September
The stall will only operate over these two days as Friday 4 September is a pupil-free day.
