Awesome few days out at The Gemfields, such a quirky little place. So so different without our side kicks, Maddie has now been gone six months, so hard to believe and Bruno over two years, we miss them so much. Apologies to anyone with dogs who I stalk and pat 😆

We went on a mission to replace some stones that fell out of Granny’s rings. We were so fortunate to come across some of the experts that pointed us in the right direction and got it all sorted for us. Big thank you to Cherie at Sapphire Gem Cuts (the lady from the show Gem Hunters), so helpful and friendly. Jim at Star Gems such a lovely man, such a small world turns out he used to work with my dad back in the early 80’s. Fay the Jeweller you are just awesome, did such an amazing job and so quick.

We went and explored Sapphire and Rubyvale, so much fun. Got to catch up with our dear friend Tan and even had time to have a wine at the pub.

The Sapphire Caravan Park was awesome we would highly recommend it. The hosts were so lovely and helpful, the facilities were great and lovely and clean. We will be back again.

Thank you to the Mills Family for looking after all the farm animals whilst we were away, job well done 💕

🌈 B E A U T I F U L M A D D I E 🌈

It is with heavy hearts we share this very sad news, our beautiful girl Maddie has crossed the rainbow bridge. She was very ill on Monday so we raced her into after hours emergency care. Doctor Greg at Alma Street Vets was amazing, he did a lot of tests, scans and x-rays. Maddie had to have the fluid drained from her chest and lungs so she could breath. It turns out she had an underlying issue, a massive tumour near her heart which we couldn’t treat. Greg was kind enough to keep her comfortable for us for a few days so we could say our goodbyes at home. We were very fortunate we got to spend time with her doing all the things she loved.

We are absolutely heart broken, Jason sat with her as she crossed the rainbow bridge, she was happy and beautiful to the end.

Maddie was our best friend she was such a beautiful girl and came everywhere with us. We couldn’t have wished for a more loving companion and family member. She didn’t have the best start to life, it took her a while to trust us but once she did it was forever love.

We have so many wonderful memories of Maddie that will help us through our grief. We are positive her boyfriend Bruno will be waiting for her at the bridge when she arrives to play and give her big kisses. They will be together again forever and which does make us smile.

Rest In Peace Beautiful Maddie. We will love you forever and you will always have our hearts 💕 We will miss your drooling, slobber, snoring, snorting and constant shadow everywhere we walk.

🐘 A F R I C A H E R E W E C O M E 🐘

We are about to head off to Africa on our Safari, so excited, life time dream. Thank you so much to Mum and Dave for watching Maddie and also to our house sitters for watching the rest of the crazy farm. See you in six weeks, we will pop up some updates along the way. Ticking off the bucket list, cheers to good times with good people. Next trip when we return will be exploring Western Australia in the van.

Took Maddie out for drive today and found this lovely little family on the road, they had taken themselves out for a walk. All home safe and sound now. The pig is called Pig and is the Pack Leader so funny it thinks it’s a dog.
