There were so many incredible businesses, products and stories to celebrate that we couldn't fit them all into one post.

Here's another look at some of the outstanding First Nations businesses that were part of this year's Sunshine Coast First Nations Business Showcase.

From professional services and creative industries to tourism, construction, education, health, cultural enterprises and retail, the showcase highlighted the diversity, innovation and strength of the First Nations business sector across our region and beyond.

Another outstanding year for the 2026 Sunshine Coast First Nations Business Showcase! 🖤💛❤️

Following the success of 2025's event, recognised as Queensland's largest Indigenous Business Month showcase, this year's event hosted at Venue 114, continued to deliver strong participation and meaningful outcomes with:

The Sunshine Coast First Nations Business Showcase 2026 is almost here, bringing First Nations businesses together with buyers, procurement professionals, industry leaders and government representatives.

🖤💛❤️ Honouring legacy, culture and creativity

This year’s Sunshine Coast National Art Prize 2026 recognises two remarkable First Nations artists.

The late Kumanjayi (Walala) Tjapaltjarri (Pintupi) and collaborator Michael Eather received the Major Prize for 'We are still creating ourselves II', an artwork shaped by more than 25 years of creative connection. The award honours Tjapaltjarri’s extraordinary artistic legacy following his recent passing.

We also celebrate local Kabi Kabi, Cobble Cobble and Butchulla artist Zartisha Davis, whose painting 'Movement and flow' captured the community’s vote to receive the People’s Choice Award.

We’re proud to celebrate the talented First Nations artists selected as finalists in the Sunshine Coast National Art Prize 2026.

Among this year's finalists are Joanne Currie Nalingu (Gungarri), Zartisha Davis (Kabi Kabi, Cobble Cobble and Butchulla), Jennifer Kent (Jinibara, Kabi Kabi, Quandamooka and Yuggera), Dylan Sarra (Taribelang and Gooreng Gooreng), Damien Shen (Ngarrindjeri and Chinese) and the late Kumanjayi (Walala) Tjapaltjarri (Pintupi).

Their works showcase the strength, diversity and innovation of First Nations art and storytelling.

🖤💛❤️ What a wonderful morning celebrating culture, connection and community at the 2026 NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony on Kabi Kabi Country (Namba)! 💙💚🤍

As we honour this year’s NAIDOC theme, ‘50 Years of Deadly’, we were proud to come together with community to recognise and celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A heartfelt thank you to Uncle Lyndon Davis and Gubbi Gubbi Dance for the Welcome to Country Ceremony and to Aunty Beverly Hand, Aunty Rhonda Sandow, Grace Alexander, Keely Eggmolesse and Darren Smith for sharing their reflections, culture, music and knowledge with us throughout the morning.

We also extend our gratitude to GATHAA Markets, Munimba-Ja, Refocus, Hooper’s Tucker and Deadly Espresso for helping create a vibrant and welcoming community celebration.

The morning was a powerful reminder of the Elders, activists and leaders who have come before us and the role we all play in walking together towards a stronger future.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event so special.
