Breakdown on the NSW Police Detective's handywork from the Bondi Beach attacks.

A lot of this has been covered in the instagram stories the past day, but it's here now in permanent post form for those asking.

This is not intended to arbitrarily glaze, nor condemn the broader actions of the Police that day, but to tip my hat, and draw attention to a spot of champagne handgunnery I find impressive. With that being said, some of the contents of this post dispel some of the factually incorrect criticisms aimed at the police, for example the "it took them 20 minutes to shoot back" narrative doing the rounds on X.

Regarding the timeline slide, if you listen to the full video with headphones in, you can reasonably accurately discern the various sources of gunfire. There is an audible difference between the rifle and shotgun fire, to the Police 9mm fired from both the south and north side of the bridge.

To anyone who followed recently, fair warning that CSRC is not a news/current affairs account, and this will probably be the last post covering Bondi. Ultimately, I attempt to post about topics that might be of value to serving diggers, or simply things I find interesting.

All memes and jests aside, my condolences to the families of the victims, and a respectful head nod to the coppers who rose to the occasion.

Note: The name of the Detective may well be released in time, but out of common-sense privacy I have redacted his identity.

Any errors within the post are my own.

Ta,

-Fabs

Layering the footage reveals the moment a plain clothes copper (follicly challenged + shirt and tie) runs a solo flank to engage the white pants baddie.

Despite then getting immediately lit up by the other tenderisor, it seems he survived, and can be seen again on-site doing crowd control once the dust settles.

Man gets the job done with 3* rounds from 40m with a Glizzy= Them NSWPOL boys ain't too shabby 👏

(*first appears to miss so likely 2 and/or 3 did the work- impressive pistolero work regardless)

New Slovak Army kit

Recent dog and pony showing off domestic camouflage uniforms and weapons. Rifles are domestically produced Grand Power AR pattern in 5.56 carbine and 7.62 DMR.

The camo reminds me a little of bright Kiwi MTP in colour & tone, but in... yep- multicam pattern.

Australian Rifles in Ukraine

In August 2023, it was broadly reported that the Australian ACAR rifle had been supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of a larger lethal aide package.

Fast forward 2 years and images of said rifle in Ukraine are still few and far between. Fig. 1-4 show the elusive AR in use with the 6th Special Purpose Regiment (Ranger). It made an appearance in unit promo photos, and a sizzler video released by the unit during raids in the Kursk region circa March 2025.

The ACAR design and production is a collaborative effort between Australian companies Lithgow Arms, and Wedgetail industries, under the French defense giant Thales group.

The ACAR is offered in 5.56mm, .458 SOCOM, 6.5 Grendel, 6mm ARC, and .300 BLK, with the Ukrainian version most logically being the 556 variant.

Noting the insane amount and variety of weapons donated to the Ukrainian war effort, I personally find spotting specific AR's is like looking for a needle in a stack of needles, particularly adding in accessory swaps, low-res photos, and weapon paint. With that being said, the most visually distinct feature on the ACAR is the blocky magazine fencing (but this is assuming you can see the lower receiver ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - fig.2)

Unless there's a treasure trove of ACAR in Ukraine photos I've missed somewhere on Instagram, these photos are to my knowledge some of the few publicly available of the rifle in-country.

Credit and shoutout to Matthew Moss from for the unit identification and visual ID assistance.

Sword & Dagger Charity Fundraiser

Bottom line: Every like on this post= one dollarydoo to cancer research

Scott and Kai are participating in the 2026 sh*tbox rally- a fundraising event which involves driving a bomb of a car across the country. The rally is in support of cancer research, with donations going to the Australian Cancer Council.

Scott and Kai met while serving in 2RAR circa 2005, before both going on to accomplished careers in SOCOMD, both SASR and 2CDO Regiment.

These are a couple of weapon blokes, involved in a legit, non-gammin charity effort CSRC is more than happy to get behind.

Accordingly, to help with their fundraising goals, every like on this Instagram post for the month of November will generate a $1 donation for their cause. The intent being to generate shares/views/engagement for their account, in turn getting more eyes, and potential donors for their mission.

If you'd like to donate yourself- give them a follow, and check the link in their Instagram account (tagged).

Many thanks all

QBU-191 DMR at a recent PLA airshow.

This particular rifle is equipped with a domestically manufactured digital night vision sight, which is not super common for the DMRs.

The Chinese philosophy towards their current small arms fleet sees their service rifle, carbine, DMR, and LMG all using like-caliber ammunition, in the 5.8x42mm cartridge.

INTERFET 1999

Digs from A Coy 2RAR engage in a sporting game of cards with Indonesian border troops.

Keen eyes will spot the woodland cam ISAPO plate carriers that were standard issue before the ADF developed a domestic solution in the DPCU CBA.
