Low lying parts of Freemans Reach Flooding
Evacuate before 1:00 am Sun 07 Apr
Emergency Warning
The NSW SES is directing people in the following area(s) to EVACUATE BEFORE 1:00 am Sun 07 Apr due to rising hazardous moderate flooding:
- Properties in the lower part of Freemans Reach:
- along Freemans Reach Road from Wilberforce Road to Hibberts Lane, along Hibberts Lane Freemans Reach Road to the first bend northwards, along the lower part of Argyle Reach Road
- Properties in the southern part of Wilberforce along Wilberforce Road from Windsor Bridge to Buttsworth Creek
You must evacuate before this time because Evacuation routes will be closed due to floodwater
Use the following evacuation route to move to safety outside the flood affected area:
- Freemans Reach to Hibberts Lane to Kurmond Road. Note that Wilberforce Road to Wilberforce may be closed at Buttsworth Creek.
You should evacuate to stay with family, friends, or alternate accommodation in areas unaffected by flooding. If you are unable to find accommodation, Evacuation centres have been set up at:
- Richmond Club, 6 E Market St, Richmond NSW 2753
- Panthers North Richmond, 33 Beaumont Ave, North Richmond NSW 2754
If you remain in the area, you may become trapped without power, water, and other essential services. It may be too dangerous for NSW SES to rescue you, and buildings may not be able to withstand the impact of flood water.
What are we expecting?
The Bureau of Meteorology advises The Hawkesbury River at Windsor (WPS) is currently at 8.97 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (7.00 m). The Hawkesbury River at Windsor (WPS) may peak near 10.50 metres overnight Saturday into Sunday, with moderate flooding. The river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level through Sunday and into Monday.
Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by dangerous floodwaters:
- Properties in the lower part of Freemans Reach:
- along Freemans Reach Road from Wilberforce Road to Hibberts Lane, along Hibberts Lane Freemans Reach Road to the first bend northwards, along the lower part of Argyle Reach Road
- Properties in the southern part of Wilberforce along Wilberforce Road from Windsor Bridge to Buttsworth Creek
