The following courses are being offered at Campbelltown ICT Centre (located at Campbelltown Tafe)in 2016:

Information Technology Courses:

- ICT30115: Certificate 3 in Information, Digital Media & Technology (Network Administration)

- ICT40415: Certificate 4 in Information Technology Networking

- ICT50415: Diploma in Information Technology Networking


Telecommunications Courses:

- ICT20213: Certificate 2 in Telecommunications

- ICT30213: Certificate 3 in Telecommunications

- ICT40613: Certificate 4 in Telecommunications Network Technology.

** Please note that the new versions of the telecommunications courses will be offered in Semester 2, 2016.


We have new full-time day and part-time evening classes starting at the beginning of every term ... depending on enrollment numbers.


Start dates for the remainder of 2016 are:

The Liverpool Information Technology Section was transformed into a higher education facility in mid 2014 and is currently delivering a Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) in partnership with the University of Canberra.

The 3 x Microsoft Academy Courses being offered over the Christmas holidays to exisitng SWSI IT students has been announced.

To enrol in these courses you must attend an information session at 6pm on the 21/11/12 in the M Block Theatre located on the corner of Bigge & Moore Streets in Liverpool (near Liverpool Railway Station).

The courses being offered are as follows:

1) Windows 7, Configuring
(Microsoft Exam No: 70-680)
Duration: 5 days
Dates: 3 - 7 December 2012
Times: 9am - 3pm (approx)
Location: M Block Liverpool, Corner of Bigge & Moore Streets

2) Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
(Microsoft Exam No: 70-640)
Duration: 5 days
Dates: 21 - 25 January 2013
Times: 9am - 4pm (approx)
Location: M Block Liverpool, Corner of Bigge & Moore Streets

3) Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
(Microsoft Exam No: 70-642)
Duration: 5 days
Dates: 28 Jan - 1 Feb 2013
Times: 9am - 3pm (approx)

These classes will be instructor led classes using the Microsoft Academy e-learning material. Students who wish to purchase book versions of the course & lab material may do so for an additional Fee (amount TBA).

The cost of these courses is $390 ... and this does not include the cost of the certification exam.

Liverpool IT is in the process of becoming a Certified Prometric Testing Centre, once this occurs we will be able to offer Microsoft certification exam to Academy students for $99 GST.

Part-time Day = approx 1 day per week for 18 weeks

10303 - Certificate 2 in Information, Digital Media and Technology
Full-time Day = approx 3 days per week for 18 weeks
Part-time Night = approx 3 evenings per week for 1 year

10304 - Certificate 3 in Information, Digital Media and Technology (Applications)
Full-time Day = approx 3.5 days per week x 18 weeks

10306 - Certificate 3 in Information, Digital Media and Technology
(Support)
Full-time Day = approx 3.5 days per week for 18 weeks
Part-time Night = 2-4 evenings per week for 18 weeks or 1 year

Note: if you attend 4 nights per week you can complete this course in 6 months. Normal part-time study is 2 nights per week.

Full-time Day = approx 4 days per week for 18 weeks
Part-time Night = approx 3 evenings per week for 1 year

10326 - Certificate 4 in Computer Systems Technology
Full-time Day = approx 4 days per week for 18 weeks
Part-time Night = approx 3 evenings per week for 1 year

10332 - Diploma in IT Systems Administration
Full-time Day = approx 2.5 days per week for 1 year
Part-time Night = approx 3 evenings per week for 1 year

Note: Full-time day students have compulsory work placement in the secondf semester. Part-time students do not have work placement as it is expected that they have either previously worked in an IT job, or are currently in an IT job.

10344 - Adv Diploma in Computer Systems Technology
Part-time Night & Saturday = 3 nights per week plus all day saturday for 1 year.

The Microsoft Academy program launch has now been finalised ...

For existing IT students in SWSI ... you are being offered the Microsoft Academy courses at $390 each (not including the Prometric Exam).

There will be an Information Session as follows:

As an Academy student if you wish to complete the certification exam with Prometric they will cost you $99 + Tax (we need to confirm the final amount).

Liverpool IT is in the process of becoming a Prometric Testing Centre ... we are hoping this will occur in the coming weeks.

Finally, please note that these courses do not qualify for Centrelink or anyother benefit discounts.

Early next week posters will be put up in all SWSI IT sections with the detail of our first Microsoft Academy course. The great new is that exisitng students will be offered the Configuring Windows 7 course (Exam 70-680).

This course is priced at over $2300 with other Training companies ... plus the exam costs ... through the Academy program SWSI students wont pay anywhere near that price :)

The Liverpool IT Section is now a Certified Microsoft IT Academy ...

The Academy program is being rolled out in 2 phases:

1) To SWSI students who are studying IT courses with any of our 8 x IT sections.

2) As part of a short course program ... details will be released in early 2013.

Initially the Academy courses will be delivered at Liverpool, but over the next few months we are hoping to deliver courses at other SWSI Tafe colleges.

Finally, we are also in the process of becoming a Prometric Testing Centre. Once this goes live, SWSI students will be able to complete their certification exams with us rather than travelling to a Prometric Testing Centre in the city.
