🎁 Did you know most Christmas wrapping paper isn't recyclable? 😱
That shiny, glossy, or velvety look comes from plastic, making it a no-go for recycling. ❌ Place it in the red bin.
👉 Reuse wrapping paper when you can and choose eco-friendly alternatives like 100% recyclable paper. ♻️✨

✨🐞Christmas beetles are a true Aussie summer icon. Typically emerging in December and January, these shiny critters add festive sparkles to our bush with their metallic hues. Sadly their numbers are on the decline due to habitat loss and climate change. Spot one? Snap a photo and upload it to iNaturalist to help scientists track and protect them!

⛳️ takes us back to 1936 and the AIF Golf Cup Day at the stunning Northbridge Golf Course! Overlooking Willoughby Bay, this heritage-listed course opened in 1935, built as part of the Great Depression’s Work Relief Program to provide jobs and create lasting community infrastructure.
The AIF Golf Cup, established in 1930, brought together Australian and Allied servicemen and servicewomen in a spirit of camaraderie and competition. While we’re unsure if the women in these photos were servicewomen, their participation reminds us of the vibrant community spirit of the time.
This event remains a meaningful tradition at some Sydney golf clubs, tying into Remembrance Day activities.

Have you ever played at Northbridge Golf Course or been part of a local AIF Golf Cup? Share your stories below! 👇
