However you like to ride, Wollongong seems to have already built a track for it 🚴‍♀️

Up in Cringila, the mountain bike park climbs through hills with the ocean and Lake Illawarra sitting in full view, and right alongside it sits a pump track and jumps park for riders still building their skills.

Further into the escarpment, the Kembla mountain bike trails bring tight turns and quick climbs through bushland, built to protect the ground they ride over 🌿

Prefer something more leisurely? The region's shared coastal pathways run the length of Wollongong with no set start or finish required, taking in beaches and ocean pools along the way.

And for anyone chasing speed or a leisurely lap, the Illawarra Criterium Track and Velodrome at Unanderra offers two closed-loop tracks open to riders of every level 🙌

It's an especially good time to explore, with the Ride Wollongong Festival of Cycling running across the region from 29 August to 13 September 2026.
