Our crews at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights are certainly no strangers to handling heavy vehicle incidents. Given our location we are regularly responded to the M7, M4 and M5 motorways to deal with vehicle accidents and fires.

Only one week ago we responded to another truck fire on the M7. Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights, Busby, Horningsea Park, Liverpool Fire Stations and a Bulk Water Tanker from St Andrews quickly extinguished the blaze.

Specialist HazMat Technicians also attended to de-canter remaining fuel supplies safely.

We understand the inconvenience of such incidents occurring on our busy motorways. Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters do work hard and efficiently to get roads open and traffic flowing as quickly as possible.

It has been a very busy time for our firefighters here at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights. This morning we arrived within 8 minutes to a call to a B-Double truck fire on the M7 motorway. Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights were first on scene and quickly set out gaining fire control. We were quickly backed up by Fire and Rescue NSW Macarthur & Wollondilly Region Command MS3 deploying appliances from Busby, Horningsea Park and a bulk tanker from St Andrews Fire Stations. The combined effort quickly suppressed the fire.

Our crews were later supported by NSW Rural Fire Service, Schofields Rural Fire Brigade and Horsley Park Rural Fire Brigade.

Specialist HazMat Technicians from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 077 St Marys arrived to contain the fuel leak and de-canter remaining fuel.

Fire and Rescue NSW resources remained on scene for 5 hours to extinguish fire, contain fuel leak and render site safe.

Great work from all involved.

A house fire can strike when you least expect it.
Make sure everyone in your home knows how to get out quickly and safely.
Draw a floor plan, choose a meeting point, and practise it together.
An escape plan only works if everyone knows it.

Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights is getting new neighbours. The NSW Premier has announced a new fire station for the Western Sydney Airport area.
Currently Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights covers a vast majority of this area in both fire and rescue capabilities. We are more than often the first arriving fire appliance to the new Western Sydney Airport and have attended numerous Automatic Fire Alarms, grass fires and other incidents. We have worked very closely with airport staff throughout its construction and look forward to seeing the airport become operational.

Did you know all Fire and Rescue NSW stations have a designated station number. Can you guess what the new station number will be? We look forward to reading your guesses in the comment section below:

With Western Sydney Airport almost ready for take-off, and the major developments surrounding it travelling full steam ahead, our emergency response network needs to be ahead of the curve.

So we're building the largest ever fire station in Western Sydney to make sure families, workers, passengers, and businesses are better protected.

We're recruiting 52 firefighters to staff this state-of-the-art, 24/7 station - and its proximity to the airport means it can immediately respond and support aviation firefighters in any emergency.

When emergencies hit, these are the men and women running in while everyone else is getting out - we owe it to them to provide them with the best possible facilities.

This is just part of the investment we're making to ensure that Western Sydney doesnโ€™t just grow, but thrives.

Overloaded power boards are a leading cause of house fires in winter. Avoid using double adapters, never plug boards into other boards, and keep cords untangled. Check your setup before it becomes a hazard.

It is with a heavy heart and immense sadness that we announce the passing of Firefighter Henry Kilo.

Henry has been an official member of FRNSW Henty since March 2024. However, he has been a part of our station since he was born. Henry is a third generation firefighter at Henty, grandson of former Captain Bob Kilo, son to Deputy Captain Matt Kilo, brother to Firefighter Lucy Kilo and Nephew to Firefighter Hannah Kilo.

His smile and personality always lighting up the room. Ready and eager to learn all that he could. Nothing ever a bother for Henry who took every opportunity to serve his community with pride and a gentle soul. Always completing his roles to the highest of standards.

Henry you will be forever in our hearts and always be a member of our Station. Rest easy now our brother. Your job here is done.
Our thoughts and love go out to all of Henryโ€™s family and friends.

ATTENTION ALL !! Did you know that June is National Burns Month in Australia.

National Burns Awareness Month (NBAM) aims to drive greater awareness amongst the Australian community of burns prevention and the correct first aid treatment for burns.

National Burns Awareness Month is an initiative of Kidsafe, Australiaโ€™s leading community organisation dedicated to child injury prevention, and held in June each year as there is a significantly increased risk of burns during winter.

Head on over to https://kidsafe.com.au/national-burns-awareness-month/ for information, Teachers resources, interactive games and videos
