🌿 Jarjums on Country🌿
What started as a rainy morning blossomed into a beautiful adventure during our Bush Kindy excursion to Bunyaville Conservation Park.
Our Jarjums were eager to explore after fueling their bodies for the day, proudly dressing themselves in gumboots and high-vis vests, ready to head into the forest. Along our journey, we learned about caring for Country and respecting Mother Earth while connecting deeply with nature.
The Jarjums explored the textures of trees, discovering that rough-barked trees felt warm, while smooth trunks felt cool and full of water. We collected special natural treasures and worked together to create a beautiful nature art piece using branches as a frame, filling it with our precious finds.
We paused to listen carefully to the sounds of Country, practicing Dadirri—deep listening and quiet awareness. Along the way, we observed mushrooms, fungi, birds, and insects thriving in their natural habitat.
Spending time together on Turrbal and Yuggera Country, we played, explored, and learned how to care for the land. After such a big adventure, the bus ride heading home, some Jarjums were still very excited, while others were quietly tired from the day’s adventure.
🌱 What a beautiful way to learn, connect, and grow through nature.
