Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice!

Over at 316 The Food Truck, Isaac had been asking to make this recipe for a couple of weeks, so he took the initiative to find one himself and brought it in to work. We're looking for a new Board Member.

Dundaloo is a not-for-profit supporting people with disability to live full and meaningful lives. We work alongside individuals and communities to deliver person-centred services, and we push for change through advocacy where we can. There's a spot opening up on our Board of Directors.

It's a governance role β€” helping set strategic direction, keeping an eye on how the organisation is tracking, and being an ambassador for Dundaloo and the wider disability community.

We're not after a particular CV. We value lived experience as much as professional background, and we'd especially like to hear from people with disability, First Nations peoples, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Useful backgrounds include disability services or lived experience of disability, health or community services, social impact work, finance, law, governance or risk, policy and advocacy, government relations, or marketing, digital and tech.

If that sounds like you, send a short cover letter and your CV to
[email protected] by 1 September 2026.

And if it sounds like someone you know, pass it on.

NAIDOC Week Community Outing

On Friday, Dushka, Lara, Hannah and Kylie enjoyed a wonderful day celebrating NAIDOC Week at the riverbank community celebrations!

The group explored a variety of stalls, took part in cultural activities, and each won a drink bottle on the chocolate wheel! They also collected clapping sticks and boomerangs to decorate, embracing the creativity and spirit of the day.
One of the highlights was visiting the petting zoo. Dushka loved patting the baby lamb and said her favourite part of the day was feeling its soft wool. Lara enjoyed meeting the adorable piglet, Wilbur, and couldn't stop talking about how "very cute" he was. Hannah and Kylie also loved meeting the animals, spending plenty of time patting and interacting with them throughout the visit.

It was a fantastic day of culture, connection and celebration, and a lovely way to honour NAIDOC Week together.

Chloe's Adventure Through Nature

Today was an absolutely amazing day for Chloe, who spent it doing what she loves most: exploring the great outdoors!

As we wandered through the bush, Chloe was truly in her element. With her keen eye for nature, she enthusiastically searched for bugs while soaking up the incredible wildlife around her. Along the way she spotted bats, a variety of birds, fascinating mushrooms, towering trees and all the little wonders that make the bush so special.

In Chloe's own words:

πŸ’¬ "Today has been an absolutely amazing day. We went through the bush and it's great. You get to see a bunch of bats and birds and different mushrooms, and it's just amazing. Then you get to see all the trees and all the wildlife, and it's so fascinating. Granted, I might be a bit biased, but I think everyone should go. Today is an amazing day, like most."

And one final message from Chloe:

πŸ’š "Nature is beautiful, and no one can change my mind."
Chloe's passion for the outdoors is truly inspiring. Whether she's searching for bugs, discovering wildlife or simply taking in the beauty around her, her enthusiasm reminds us all to appreciate the incredible world we live in. Every adventure with Chloe is filled with curiosity, wonder and a genuine love for nature.
