🚨 Please use caution if traveling on Hwy 83 in Catarina 🚨. DCSO Deputies and first responders are currently working a single vehicle rollover. Traffic will still be allowed through for the time being, but it will be a single lane of traffic both north and southbound.

Cold Weather Safety Tip from MVCPA!

Winter is rolling into Texas this weekend, and we know how tempting it is to start your car in the driveway, let it warm up, then dash inside for coffee.

BUT — don’t make it easy for car thieves!

Did you know? Under Texas Transportation Code § 545.404, you may not leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running unless you’re inside it or using a remote starter system that doesn’t leave the key in the ignition. That means:

✔️ Stop the engine
✔️ Lock the ignition
✔️ Remove the key before walking away

Leaving your car running while you pop inside for coffee or warm up the house could be a violation of state law AND a golden opportunity for thieves.
