PUBLIC MEETINGS -- Both the Claude City Council and the Armstrong County Commissioners meet next week, and both have important items on their agendas.

The CITY COUNCIL will discuss a future development at N. Alamo Street and Melrose Street; an RV park at US 287 and Jewel Street; two separate resolutions for property to be annexed into the city; and water issues such as supplying water for use in drilling wells in the county, among other items on the agenda. The Council meets at 6:30 pm Monday at City Hall, 115 Trice Street.

The COUNTY COMMISSION will discuss a plat that has been presented for a “workforce community” (to be named Juliet Estates) near the Goodnight Data Center; the purchase of a new ambulance, fire equipment and election equipment; and an agreement with Crusoe Energy to fund a new deputy sheriff position for 2 years, among other items on the agenda. The Commission meets at 9 am Tuesday at the county courthouse, 101 Trice Street.

These meetings are open to the public and a great chance to know firsthand what’s happening in your city and county.
