After yesterday’s VP Day, it was a privilege to continue connecting descendants with the missing links of war service.
Tolga Museum hosted a delicious morning tea and we all enjoyed our meals at The Tolga Pub. A big thank you to Noelene for driving us safely.

THE 81st anniversary of Victory in the Pacific and the end of the World War II will be marked at a commemorative service to be held at Rocky Creek War Memorial Park on 15 August.

Today’s tour was a moving experience, with many visitors sharing stories of family members who passed this way during the Second World War.
Peter Meers of Sydney kindly donated a copy of ‘They Shall Ever Be Remembered’, authored by descendants of the Rats of Tobruk. His gift to the Tolga Museum honors his father, John Francis MEERS NX13861, of the 2/13 Infantry Battalion.
Other families represented the 2/12 Infantry Battalion, 2/14 Infantry Battalion, and 2/48 Infantry Battalion, as well as an uncle from the 53 Infantry Battalion who was Missing in Action during the Kokoda Campaign and was never found.
