Official opening of the Dowton Park rooms at Yarragon today. Almost a $4mil investment into regional sport facilities. Exciting day with a great presentation from Harriet and an emotional one from the President of Dowton Park.

I spoke about remembering the past and all those who contributed to the building and maintenance of the old rooms. A new chapter starts in Yarragon with an incredible Sports precedent now complete.

We are delighted to bring together esteemed champions, committed volunteers, and enthusiastic supporters from all the affiliated clubs, past and present, to collaborate and celebrate the official opening of this exceptional facility.

🎉 Our Community Grants Program is set to deliver $141,000 to 41 local community groups and not-for-profit organisations!

🤝 Conditionally supported through Round 2 of the Community Projects funding stream for 2025–26, these grants will help fund equipment purchases, community events and programs that make a real difference across our shire.

👏 Baw Baw Shire Council Mayor Councillor Kate Wilson congratulated recipients on their outstanding applications and community spirit.
“As a Council, we’re proud to provide valuable funds to local organisations that are out there making a positive impact in our community."

🎊 A reception event will be held in July to celebrate the 2025–26 grant recipients and their projects.
