👍 After a successful trial, three priority mobility parking spaces at Warragul Leisure Centre will now stay in place permanently.

🏊 The spaces were added to help people with mobility issues park closer to the entrance. This makes it easier for them to access the centre for fitness, wellbeing or injury recovery.

🫶 The trial received strong positive feedback, including this comment from Joy: “I attend the pool several times each week, as aqua classes are the only form of physical activity that I am able to do. I am delighted to hear that there now will be three more spaces!”

🛻 The three priority spaces are in addition to the four disability spaces at the front of Warragul Leisure Centre and the four disability spaces beside the stadium.

Free entry as Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort has moved in to Green season. No requirement for wheel chains either. Still a great area on Hut run for snow play and……whatever you choose “at your own risk”.
Village central restaurant is open until Sunday August 30.

🗳️ With under 100 days until the Victorian State Election, Baw Baw Shire Council is calling on all candidates and political parties to listen to local voices and commit to projects and services impacting communities.

📣 An election campaign is being led by the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) in partnership with councils across the state with a clear message to election candidates: The future is local. The time is now.

💬Baw Baw Shire Mayor Councillor Kate Wilson said this countdown marks an important opportunity to highlight critical projects in need of funding that support Baw Baw Shire’s future growth, safety and liveability.
“Over the next 100 days, we will ramp up advocacy to all candidates from both sides of politics on a clear set of endorsed priorities, asking them to respond with meaningful commitments”, said the Mayor.

📌 Earlier this year in March with the upcoming election in mind, Baw Baw Shire Council endorsed its Advocacy Priorities ranging from key intersection upgrades, business attraction, paths and trails, sporting infrastructure, support for growing peri-urban regions, and fairer access to financial assistant grants.

🤝 “We welcome any opportunity to discuss local priorities with election candidates and political parties over the next 100 days during this important time for Victoria” Cr Wilson said.
