A laryngectomy changes how you speak and breathe, but you’re not alone.

We have a variety of resources available on our website to answer your questions. You can also watch our Laryngectomy Webinar recorded back in 2021 and jam-packed full of valuable information presented by Alanna Bowen, Speech Pathologist, Tracey Nicholls, ENT/Nurse Practitioner and Mike George, coordinator of the Larykins support group and HANCA Ambassador talking about what to expect after a laryngectomy and troubleshooting common problems. https://headandneckcancer.org.au/types-of-head-neck-cancer/laryngeal-cancer/laryngectomy/

Speak up - “raise your voices”
Make a difference please!!!!

The Australian federal election is around the corner, and we need your voice! We are advocating for facial prosthetics funding to support approximately 2,000 Australians who face life-altering facial disfigurement with removal of part of their face to cancer. Senator Wendy Askew, Senator for Tasmania, recently helped to highlight the critical challenges people with Head and Neck Cancer face in accessing these vital services at the Senate Committee on Community Affairs Committee.

As we approach the Federal election, Head and Neck Cancer Australia is calling on both sides of government to commit $13 million in Federal Government funding per annum to establish a Head and Neck Cancer External Facial Prosthetics Reimbursement Program.

How you can help: Write to your local MP using our letter template calling for the Government to prioritise funding for facial prosthetics for people with Head and Neck Cancer.

OR give your local radio station a call and let them know what we are trying to achieve! Every voice matters, and together, we can make sure that no one faces Head and Neck Cancer alone, especially in the crucial recovery stages.
