We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and live – the Darug people – and we pay respect to their elders, past and present, and to their living culture that has survived for over 60,000 years. Since European settlement in 1788, Parramatta was one of the earliest places to have a regulated police force. In 1838, Governor George Gipps, established a Police Force at Parramatta with his Act to maintain “the public peace and good order and for the prosecution of certain offences”. In 2003, Parramatta became the centre of policing in New South Wales when Police Headquarters moved to Charles Street, Parramatta. PARRAMATTA PAC POLICE STATION
Today, Parramatta Police Area Command provides a 24-hour community policing service – across the suburbs of Constitution Hill, Harris Park, North Parramatta, Northmead, Old Toongabbie, Parramatta, Pendle Hill, Wentworthville, Westmead, and Winston Hills. On 14th March, 2022, our Parramatta Police Station at 95 Marsden St, Parramatta, temporarily closed whilst a new station is built on the existing site. Counter services will be available from Wentworthville Police Station, which now operates 24hours day/7 days per week and is across the road from Wentworthville Railway Station. We anticipate the new Parramatta station will open in 2024 and we thank the community for their patience and understanding while these important works occur. OUR COMMUNITY
Our police area has a diverse community, which is rich in culture, language, and religion. In 2016, there were 82,174 people living in the local area, and over 43,000 people journeyed to Parramatta for work every weekday. Parramatta central business district is experiencing rapid growth and is the second largest in Sydney, and the sixth largest in Australia. Westmead is home to one of the largest health, education, research and training precincts in Australia and spans across an area of 75-hectares, and is undergoing significant growth and development.

As Halloween approaches, Parramatta PAC would like to remind parents, carers, guardians and children to stay alert and put safety first while enjoying the festivities.

🎃 Halloween is for fun, not for fear.

While dressing up and celebrating can be exciting, pranks that damage property, hurt others, or cause panic are not harmless. These actions can be dangerous and may result in serious consequences.

🦇 Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips:
✅ Look both ways twice before crossing any road and ensure it is safe to cross.
✅ Stay away from main roads and busy traffic areas.
✅ Take extra care at intersections and corners.
✅ Be cautious when entering or exiting driveways.
✅ Children should never go trick-or-treating alone. Stay with a parent, responsible adult, or a group of friends.
✅ Carry a torch or flashlight to help you see and be seen.
✅ Never enter a stranger's home or vehicle, and avoid taking shortcuts through backyards or alleys.

Parramatta, Riverstone, Blacktown, Mount Druitt and The Hills Police Area Commands had the privilege of being involved in a Toy Drive in support of Grace’s Place. Grace’s Place is a world first trauma recovery centre dedicated for children and families affected by Homicide and Road Trauma.

On 28 October 2026, we had the pleasure of presenting the toys to the wonderful staff at Grace's Place.

Thankyou to all members of the mentioned Police Area Commands who donated so generously to enable those children and families impacted by Homicide and Road Trauma to experience some much needed joy this Christmas.

Thankyou to Grace's Place for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful cause.

A reminder that under NSW liquor laws, if you are directed by staff or police to leave licensed premises, you must do so immediately.

❌ Remaining on the premises after being directed to leave may result in a Fail to Quit offence.

Whether you're celebrating a win or disappointed with the result, please:
✅ Respect venue staff
✅ Follow lawful directions
✅ Look after your mates
✅ Plan a safe trip home

Under Section 77 of the Liquor Act 2007 (NSW) a person may be issued a $550 penalty notice if they have been refused entry to, or removed from a licensed premises due to intoxication or disorderly behaviour and:

*Remain in the vicinity of the premises; or
*Attempt to re-enter the premises without reasonable excuse.

Parramatta Police urge everyone to enjoy the game responsibly and remember: if you're asked to leave, leave.

📢 Next of Kin Information Session – Probus Senior Group, Westmead

The Parramatta Police Area Command (PAC) Multicultural Community Liaison Officer (MCLO) was pleased to attend the Probus Senior Group, Westmead to deliver a Next of Kin Information Session.

The session highlighted the importance of keeping next of kin and emergency contact details up to date, ensuring family members can be contacted quickly during emergencies, and discussing practical ways to stay safe and connected.

Thank you to all attendees for their active participation, thoughtful questions, and valuable discussions. It was wonderful to engage with local seniors and strengthen community connections through information sharing and collaboration.

Parramatta PAC and the MCLO team remain committed to supporting and engaging with our diverse communities through education, partnership, and community outreach.

Since 21st August 2026, new e-bike seizure laws have come into effect.

Not all e-bikes sold in Australian shops or through online retailers are legal for road use. E-bikes that operate at higher speeds, have high-powered motors (even if restricted by software), or do not require pedalling cannot be used in public places.

Use of these non compliant e-bikes can attract significant penalties and may be seized by police and authorised officers. Any e-bike that has a throttle cannot exceed 6kph without being pedalled and all power assistance must cut out at 25kph. Currently, the maximum legal power output for an e-bike used in a public place in NSW is 500 watts. However after the 1 March 2029 this will be reduced to 250 watts.

Apart from ensuring that your e-bike is legal, e-bike riders must follow the same road rules that apply to regular bicycles. This includes wearing a helmet, not carrying more passengers than the bike is designed for, and complying with footpath riding rules. If you are 16 years of age or older and are not supervising a child under 16 years of age who is riding a bicycle, you cannot ride on the footpath.

Non-compliant e-bikes present a significant safety risk, to the rider and other people present. Remember, if you ride a non compliant e-bike in a public place it can be seized and destroyed.

Police have seized more than 150 cannabis plants after a hydroponic setup was located inside a Constitution Hill house yesterday.

In April 2026, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into reports of a hydroponic house.

Following inquiries, about 7.50am yesterday (Thursday 8 October 2026), officers, with assistance from North West Metropolitan Operational Support Group, Public Order and Riot Squad and Penrith Region Enforcement Squad, executed a crime scene warrant at a house on Tabooba Street, Constitution Hill.

During a search of the property, police located a sophisticated hydroponic setup.

Officers seized 184 cannabis plants, among other items.

Investigations are ongoing.
