Congratulations to Ava, winner of full-house Book Bingo at Stawell Library! Ava's mother said she had been discussing the event at home and her determination led to her marking off all books on the card.

Stawell and St Arnaud branches ran Book Bingo throughout August as part of Children's Book Week celebrations. Stawell Library received about 20 entries, including five two-line winners! Participants in St Arnaud received a lucky dip.

The event resulted in great engagement with the Children's Book Week short-listed books, with the picture books being read in-house numerous times as well as a good number from the junior and young adult fiction being borrowed.

Thanks to everyone who participated in Book Bingo and our other Book Week activities 📚🌟

R U Ok Day? Is Australia's National Day of Action, that is designed to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect and develop the confidence and capability to lend support to those around them.

Every day, someone around you — a colleague, a mate, a manager, the person who always makes the coffee run — might be carrying something you can't see.

Doesn't matter where you're from, who your mob is, or how you identify: tough times don't discriminate. Neither should we.

Your thoughts are a cue, your care is a catalyst, and your question could change a life.

Happy Children's Book Week🎉

Visit us in Stawell and St Arnaud and join the celebrations! As part of the festivities, our branches have been running Book Bingo throughout the month. We created Book Bingo to help you discover some of the best children's stories and illustrated books shortlisted by Children's Book Council of Australia for 2026 Children's Book Week awards.

Come in and grab a bingo card, tick off the books and return your card to go in a lucky dip.

Our popular story time sessions will also feature a Book Week theme, and we will be reading titles from this year's shortlist.

We would love to see you come along dressed up as a character from one of your favourite books! Story time is on Thursdays at 10.30am, with an additional session in Stawell on Fridays at 10.30am.
