Meet Natalie, a CIT Yurauna Alumna whose story is one of courage, resilience and giving back.

For a long time, Natalie felt that education wasn't a path available to her. But when she made the decision to take that step, she found CIT Yurauna, a place where she truly belonged, a culturally safe community that supported her on her own terms.

From carpentry and landscaping to painting, plumbing and tiling, they gained real-world skills and insights into what their future in a trade could look like.

Meet Jordan Lee, a CIT international alumni who moved from South Korea to Canberra to build a long-term culinary career. At CIT, he developed job-ready skills through hands-on training, industry-standard kitchens and real industry experience.

Today, Jordan is Head Chef at the Royal Canberra Golf Club, where he leads a team and mentors young chefs finding their way in the industry.

National Reconciliation Week is a time to strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year’s theme ‘All In’, reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility through listening, respecting First Nations cultures and taking positive action.

The events will feature a welcome to country and talk from a Ngunnawal Elder, a cultural performance from Brindabella Dreaming, free First Nations inspired BBQ and more.

This week our talented CIT hairdressing, barbering, beauty therapy and makeup students put their skills on display at the CIT Student Styling and Awards Night. 💇‍♂️💄

Students showcased their creativity, talent and professionalism throughout the evening, bringing the event to life through collaboration. Inspired by this year’s theme ‘Dreaming’ students blended artistry, storytelling and technical skill on the runway. In partnership with Blaklabel Dreaming and Pakana Dreaming, culture and design were woven throughout the evening.

Meanwhile, our hospitality and culinary students kept the evening flowing with quality food and bar service, making it an unforgettable evening of creativity, collaboration, and celebration. 👏
