Hatzolah - Caring for the Community

Our primary goal is to provide a lifesaving bridge of medical care during the first critical moments of a medical emergency before the arrival of an Ambulance, whilst catering to the unique needs of the Jewish Community. We provide comfort to the patient and their family, and prevent additional injury or further deterioration of the patient's health. Since our

inception in June 2006, we have responded to over 6000 calls for help. Our calls cover the vast spectrum of medical emergencies from the severe trauma of road accidents, to falls and respiratory distress, and we have equally responded to day old infants and those past their 100th birthday. Hatzolah members are all equipped with life-saving medical equipment, including Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs), Oxygen and resuscitation devices, trauma management accessories, Epipens, Ventolin, Glucose and Penthrox. All Hatzolah members have the advanced training and skill necessary to provide competent medical and emergency care. Hatzolah members are all linked to a dispatch centre via a sophisticated two-way radio communication system, and stand ready to respond to all medical emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Hatzolah is a free service to the community

We receive no official federal or state funding, and rely solely on donations from the community. All donations are tax deductible.

Today is Thank a First Responder Day.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the incredible volunteers of Hatzolah Sydney who answer the call, day and night, 365 days a year.

Whether responding to medical emergencies, standing by at community events, or providing critical assistance during major incidents, our responders are always there when it matters most.

Their dedication, courage, professionalism, and commitment to saving lives make a profound difference to countless families across our community.

To every Hatzolah responder - thank you for your selfless service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to helping others.

We are deeply proud and humbled by our dedicated volunteer and Hatzolah Hero, Yanky Super, together with our president Rabbi Mendy Litzman OAM, who are both alumni of the RCA - The Rabbinical Council of America.

Yanky was awarded by the RCA due to the courage he displayed under fire at Bondi Beach on December 14th and his unwavering commitment to saving lives. This is reflective of all our amazing responders, and their dedication to saving lives in the community each and every day.
