A strong cold front is expected to move across Victoria this weekend, with the worst conditions forecast from Sunday into Monday, bringing widespread rain, strong winds and the potential for localised flooding.

VICSES is urging Victorians to prepare now by:

• Securing loose outdoor items.
• Clearing gutters and drains.
• Staying up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings through the VicEmergency app.
• Avoiding unnecessary travel during severe weather where possible.

Those travelling to the alpine region should remain vigilant as conditions can change. Download the VicEmergency app and set up a Watch Zone for your destination to receive the latest info.

For emergency assistance due to storms or floods, call SES on 132 500.

📢 Community Notice

Victoria Police will be involved in an emergency management training exercise within the GMHBA Stadium (Kardinia Park) precinct from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Tuesday 23 June and Wednesday 24 June.

As part of the exercise, you may notice an increased emergency services presence in the area. Loud noises may also be heard during activities on Tuesday.

This is a planned training exercise only and there is no threat to the public.

Thank you for your understanding as emergency services undertake this important training.

🌧️ It was an early start this morning with our volunteers responding to multiple requests for assistance after significant rainfall in the area overnight. A timely reminder to never drive through flood water.

AusAlert is being tested in Geelong, Victoria at 2:00 pm tomorrow afternoon. ⚠️

Here’s what you need to know. 👇

A test AusAlert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in the Belmont and Highton area of City of Greater Geelong at around 2:00 pm on Thursday 18 June 2026.

If you are near the test area with a compatible mobile device, you may receive the alert. 📱

Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. An AusAlert may appear on your device screen. It will clearly say it is a test. You don't need to do anything.

There will also be a national test on Monday 27 July 2026, at around 2:00 pm AEST. AusAlerts will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.

Ensure you can receive AusAlerts by installing the latest software update and restarting your device. Updates also fix bugs, improve performance and may boost battery life. ✅
