Our very own Immediate Past President Ramalka H. Kasige presented a keynote to a 100+ audience at SpeakEasy Speaking Event in Sydney! 😎

Ramalka delivered her first-ever SpeakEasy speech, “The Train Is Not Too Late,” using the metaphor of a delayed train to reflect on life not always unfolding according to plan. She shared her journey from graduating with first-class honours and three gold medals in zoology to facing repeated disappointment while pursuing a PhD during the COVID-19 pandemic. After receiving only one unfunded offer from the United States, she reassessed her approach and applied to ten Australian universities, ultimately receiving full scholarship offers from all ten.

Through her personal story, Ramalka reminded the audience that delays do not necessarily mean failure or that an opportunity has been missed. Sometimes, we may simply be standing on the wrong platform, and the journey taking longer than expected may still lead us toward the destination that is right for us.

What a fantastic evening at Hawkesbury Valley Toastmasters! 😎 Meeting #980 brought members and several new faces together for an energetic night of learning, laughter and inspiring stories. 😍

The meeting began with a warm welcome to our newest members, along with a reminder that mentors and club leaders are available to support them as they begin their Toastmasters and Pathways journeys😎

Brad delivered a lively and creative Table Topics session featuring an auction, “Ask the Expert,” field-reporting challenges and a variety of entertaining impromptu prompts. Members were encouraged to structure their responses using the PREP method: Point, Reason, Example and Point 🤣

The prepared speeches and icebreakers took us through meaningful personal journeys involving migration, career changes, resilience and finding purpose. Speakers impressed the audience with their authenticity, humour, storytelling and memorable take-home messages 😇

The evaluation team provided encouraging and practical feedback, highlighting the importance of deliberate stage movement, strong posture, controlled gestures, concise openings and effective eye contact😍

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered for a role and contributed to another educational, entertaining and memorable evening😁

What a wonderful evening at Hawkesbury Valley Toastmasters!😎 Meeting 979 brought members and guests together for an engaging night of learning, laughter and meaningful stories.😍

The meeting featured creative card-inspired Table Topics exploring success, manifestation, imagination, patience, fate and change, giving speakers the opportunity to share thoughtful reflections and practise speaking spontaneously.

Members were also challenged to incorporate the Word of the Night, “acquiesce,” into their contributions.

The prepared speech session offered three inspiring and varied presentations:
🔖Raj Bangalore shared his Life Journey to Australia,
🔖Zsuzsa Boon explored Conscious Dreaming, and
🔖Andrew Villegas spoke about developing a Service Mindset.

With supportive evaluations, valuable feedback and warm contributions from our visitors, it was another encouraging and memorable evening at Hawkesbury Valley Toastmasters.
