Yarram and district community offshore wind survey.

Whether you're for or against offshore wind - your voice matters, as we need to understand the community's interest, readiness and preparedness to host and support an offshore wind industry in Bass Strait.

This report will be published widely and everyone’s opinions count.

This is an independent survey by the Future of Yarram local development strategy in partnership with Fed Uni’s Collaboration and Evaluation and Research Centre.

We just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who showed up for the Hospitality Training Workshop on Mon & Tues at The Regent Theatre, Supper Room. The turnout was awesome and the Future of Yarram team was blown away with the community members who rolled up their sleeves to take part in the training, built new skills, and gained a Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) certificate 🍷🍸🥃🍾.

We hope everyone that took part gets to put their new skills to good use and if any local cafes, bars, accommodation providers etc. are looking for new staff - we've got just the right people to send your way - send us a quick email at [email protected] and we'll link you up.

A BIG thanks to Pete - our friendly TAFE Gippsland Trainer who made things fun and kept things nice and easy for everyone.

Special thanks also to Tracey at the Blue Jay Cafe for feeding us all with your delicious catering and to The Regent Theatre for letting us use the great Supper Room space.

Future of Yarram recently completed a business case in partnership with TRC Tourism which tells us a cycling enterprise & hub in Yarram is viable. Yarram's unique position at the start of the Great Southern Rail Trail is a major asset and we need community support to help us activate a Cycling Enterprise/Hub and activities. This project has great potential to bring new jobs, tourists, business, and more community connection for Yarram, please lend your support if you can.

A very special thank you to Yarram Secondary College for hosting a wonderful gathering today for National Reconciliation Week. Ray Young, Shaun Braybrook, Bianca Gonos, Naomi Silvester, and Lyn Kerrison - Thank you for inviting Future of Yarram to be part of your special event. 🚴 Exciting opportunities are rolling into Yarram!

A new business case has confirmed that a community-owned Yarram Cycling Enterprise/Hub is financially viable and perfectly positioned to help grow the town’s future alongside the expanding Great Southern Rail Trail visitor economy.

The proposed hub would help attract more cyclists to the region, provide local bike servicing options, create sustainable jobs and skills, and strengthen community wellbeing and connectivity.

The Future of Yarram Outdoor Recreation Innovation Working Group is now calling for Expressions of Interest from community members who would like to help bring this exciting trail-town initiative to life.

People with governance experience and cycling industry knowledge are especially encouraged to get involved and help shape the strategic direction of the enterprise.
