Burketown.... Well umm yeah..... There diesel sucks!! 25kms out to town and blew the injectors in camou. Luckily we were able to slowly limp her back to "town" but she was not happy. No parts available in the remote area and post in only twice a week to get Brissy supplier to send them up.

On a good note, the caravan park here in Burketown has been great thus far. And the grounds are not bad. The road here from Normanton wasn't to bad and some very picturesque views.

We have had the scary honour of meeting the largest brown nope rope we have ever seen.

We are already going nuts sitting here, so if your heading through be sure to come and say hi, were here for at least another week!!!

Sitting around the fire we met a lovely bloke and his wife. (Along with her sister and husband), a few beers later we had the honour of hearing some of his storey. A Vietnam vet that severed our country for 21 years across 4 different long deployments. His jokes and laughter certainly brightened the fire. We were referred by this gentleman to visit rocky Creek and Avenue of honour before we leave the area and wow what beautiful memorials they both are.

Some adventuring off the track has taken us back to a few of our favourite places. Charlie's Hill is always a stop on the list, rollingstone for a heartfelt visit, and of course the mines within the Herberton region. We managed to actually stop (sort of) for 4 days here at Herberton and glad we did. The communal fire made for a great place to meet so awesome people with some amazing stories to share.
