The Jamaica Aruba Relief Committee extends its sincere gratitude to the people of Aruba for their generosity and solidarity in the aftermath of the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. Jamaica deeply appreciates the compassion, support, and assistance shown during this difficult time.

The Committee would like to clearly reaffirm that all funds raised for Jamaica’s relief efforts are transferred directly to the Red Cross of Aruba. The Committee does not handle, manage, or retain any portion of the donations received.

All contributions are processed through official banking channels and forwarded in full to the Red Cross of Aruba, which is equipped with the necessary expertise and humanitarian mandate to ensure aid reaches those affected in Jamaica.

The Committee’s role is strictly focused on:
β€’ Raising awareness about humanitarian needs in Jamaica
β€’ Supporting fundraising efforts
β€’ Coordinating with the Red Cross of Aruba on relief initiatives
β€’ Ensuring transparency for the Aruba community regarding the relief efforts

Continuing the Mission

The Jamaica Aruba Relief Committee remains committed to supporting Jamaica during this recovery period. The remaining members continue to work closely with the Red Cross of Aruba to help ensure that assistance reaches those most affected.

Jamaica Relief Aid Committee Announces Successful First Day of Drop-Off at YMCA San Nicolas.

The Jamaica Relief Aid Committee is pleased to report that Saturday, November 8, 2025 marked the first day of drop-off support at the YMCA San Nicolas, in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, which struck the western parishes of Jamaica on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. The day was a resounding success, with supporters turning out in strong numbers to contribute essential necessities for those impacted by the disaster.

A robust outpouring of donations of basic necessities for hurricane victims.

Community engagement from both Jamaican and Aruban supporters, underscoring the cross-diasporic solidarity in this relief effort.

In addition to community contributions, the initiative is honored to announce, a prominent visit from the Prime Minister of Aruba to the YMCA San Nicolas, recognizing the outpouring of support from both the Aruban and Jamaican communities.

The committee has secured storage facilities to safely store donated items, made possible through the generosity of the Management of Fast Delivery, whose significant assistance ensures smooth and organized relief operations.

The Freewinds has generously offered their support for helping to organize a charity concert to be held in December, with all proceeds directed toward ongoing relief efforts. A telethon is in the planning to further boost support, with a date to be announced in the near future.

Donations can be dropped off at YMCA San Nicolas this Saturday November 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Red Cross Aruba will also be present.

The committee will continue to provide regular updates as relief operations progress.

Further details and announcements will be communicated as they become available.

The Jamaica Relief Aid Committee extends sincere gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and who have contributed time, resources, and support. Your generosity is making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by Hurricane Melissa.
