The Embassy of Sweden together with EU Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan and other EU Embassies invite you to EuroVillage 2026 in G***a on June 6!

This is the biggest annual European Day event in Azerbaijan!

Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the traditions, culture, and contemporary achievements of European countries, meet Ambassadors and representatives of EU Member States, and learn more about Europe.

The festival programme will feature:
🌍 Cultural stands showcasing European countries, their heritage, tourism, education, and traditions.
🎯 Interactive activities, quizzes, games, and symbolic prizes for visitors of all ages.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly entertainment, creative workshops, and special activities for children.
🎶 A festive atmosphere filled with music, cultural exchange, and opportunities to connect with people from across Azerbaijan and Europe.
🎤 The celebrations will conclude with a live performance by Chingiz Mustafayev and the Dervish Band, promising an energetic and memorable finale to the day.

We were happy to participate in the Team Sweden Central Asia and Eastern Europe Business Opportunities Forum and the annual Regional Trade Promotion meeting in Istanbul.

The forum highlighted emerging project opportunities accross the region, including Azerbaijan and brougt together leading Turkish EPC contractors with Swedish solution providers and 🇸🇪 representstives to explore concrete collaboration prospects.

Ambassadord and colleagues from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Business Sweden, and the Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) shared valuable insights, complemented by contributions from Turkisv EPC firms and Swedish suppliers.

We are grateful to all the participants for their useful insights and to for hosting us.

WOODLIFE SWEDEN EXHIBITION IN BAKU
🌍 🌱 🌲 🏗️

The Embassy of Sweden in Baku, in partnership with ADA University, was pleased to inaugurate the Woodlife Sweden exhibition on 13 May 2026. 🇸🇪 🤝 🇦🇿 The opening took place as Baku prepared to host the 13th UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), the world’s leading conference on sustainable urbanization.

Developed by the Swedish Institute together with major Swedish architecture and design organizations, Woodlife Sweden presents 48 innovative wooden architecture projects from across Sweden. The exhibition highlights Sweden’s long-standing commitment to sustainable construction and demonstrates how modern wood technology can support climate‑smart urban development in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In his remarks, Ambassador Tobias Lorentzson noted that Sweden’s experience in renewable materials and climate‑smart building solutions offers valuable insights for the global urban agenda and can support future cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The event brought together architects, designers, planners, academia, and government representatives, contributing to the broader dialogue ahead of WUF13.

Thank you to ADA University for the collaboration, and to everyone who visited. We hope the exhibition continues to inspire new ideas for sustainable urban development.

Excellent panel discussion on sustainable housing ahead of World Urban Forum in Baku!

Warm thanks to Elmira Farzaliyeva / Urban Nature-Based Solutions and UFAZ for the opportunity to talk about the Swedish experience of building affordable and sustainable housing, including the Woodlife Sweden exhibition at ADA University later this week.

Truly encouraging to see the keen interest for this topic from a broad audience ranging from students to members of parliament.

Also great to meet so many alumni from Swedish universities, including Lund University's Course on Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Transformation!

Bakıda keçiriləcək Ümumdünya Şəhərsalma Forumu ərəfəsində dayanıqlı yaşayış sahələri mövzusunda panel müzakirəsi baş tutdu.

İsveçin əlçatan və dayanıqlı yaşayış sahələrinin inşası üzrə təcrübəsini paylaşmaq imkanı verdikləri üçün Elmira Fərzəliyeva / Urban Nature-Based Solutions və UFAZ-a təşəkkür edirik. United in peace and solidarity.

Today we celebrate Europe Day, commemorating the Schuman Declaration – the foundation of what we know as the European Union. The EU emerged from a will to ensure peace and strengthen economic ties between Europe’s countries. The Declaration highlighted two main principles – peace and solidarity – which are still priorities today when European cooperation is more important than ever.

In a world that is fraught with worry, our strongest voice is a united Europe. Europe Day reminds us that Europe’s future is being built every day – through cooperation, trust and joint will.
