The theme of this year's Day for the Eradication of Poverty is 'Building Forward Together: Ending Persistent Poverty, Respecting all People and our Planet.'

Building forward means not only that no one is left behind, but that people living in poverty are actively encouraged and supported to be in the front, engaging in informed and meaningful participation in decision-making processes that directly affect their lives.

Throwback to our health promotion seminar series where Celia Collymore shared strategies to prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs), eating well on a limited budget, the benefits of physical activity and relaxation techniques. These discussions were supported by practical sessions on reading supermarket labels, cooking demonstrations, exercise sessions and stress management techniques focused on relaxation and breathing exercises.
