In Badminton, every smash and shot demands relentless movement and a quick mental reset. In Table Tennis, it’s the lightning reflex and in Carrom every eye remains on the queen.

Every year on 9 August, the world observes the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples to recognize the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and knowledge of Indigenous communities while raising awareness about the challenges they continue to face.
Indigenous Peoples are the guardians of invaluable cultural heritage and biodiversity. Their traditional knowledge plays a vital role in environmental conservation, sustainable development, and strengthening community resilience. Yet, many Indigenous communities still experience discrimination, displacement, and limited access to basic rights and opportunities.
But in the Brac University Response Team (BURT), we believe that building resilient and inclusive communities begins with respect, empathy, and equal opportunities for all. On this day, let us celebrate the diversity of Indigenous cultures, amplify their voices, and stand together in promoting dignity, justice, and human rights.
Together, we can create a future where every culture is valued, every voice is heard, and no community is left behind.

Two years ago today, students across the country refused to stay silent any longer. What started as a demand for quota reform turned into a full-scale uprising after protestors were branded "𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐬". They reclaimed the slur and answered back on the streets: "𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖? 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒎 𝑰? 𝑹𝒂𝒛𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒓! 𝑹𝒂𝒛𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒓! 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕? 𝑫𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓! 𝑫𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓!"

Through tear gas, arrests and bullets, BRAC University stood united. Students and teachers stood together on the frontlines, while everyday people showed up with food, shelter and medical aid to keep the movement going. So many lives were lost, but nobody backed down until real change happened.

Today, we remember every single student, teacher and citizen who stood up for us and fought for a better Bangladesh.

We are proud to announce that the 𝑩𝑹𝑨𝑪𝑼 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 (𝑩𝑼𝑹𝑻) has been awarded the Certificate of Honour on the occasion of post celebration of World Blood Donor Day 2026 hosted by the Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity - BTS, following another year of dedicated efforts towards voluntary blood donation and supporting patients in critical need. It stands as a proud milestone in our journey of community service.

The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐙𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, alongside the Honourable 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐥. BURT was represented by our President and General Secretary at this significant occasion, who had the honour of receiving the commemorative crest for the Blood Donor Recognition of 2026 and a Certificate of Appreciation from Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation.

From organizing blood donation drives to connecting donors with those in critical need, BURT remains committed as always to building a culture of voluntary blood donation and community service.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to every dedicated BURT volunteer whose unwavering commitment and contributions resulted in such an honorary achievement. Together, we remain inspired to carry forward the legacy of compassion and action.
