From June 1 to June 10, our team “The Last Air Benders," strategically placed posters in various locations across Bangladesh, including Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, and Boardbazar, Gazipur—known to be among the most air-polluted areas in the country. These posters featured a QR code that, when scanned, provided real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) values for the area.
This initiative was designed to raise awareness and encourage the community to take proactive steps against air pollution. The response was significant; many people were astonished to learn about the high levels of air pollution in their surroundings, with AQI values around 100, indicating unhealthy air quality. This realization sparked concern and prompted discussions about the importance of improving air quality.
Our efforts successfully created a heightened awareness among the local population about the critical issue of air pollution. By providing them with tangible data and actionable steps, we empowered the community to advocate for and contribute to cleaner air practices.
